  • san shou in philadelphia?

Hey guys, i live near philadelphia and i want to start learning san shou. Does anybody know of any san shou schools in the philly/new jersey areas? I'm talking about real san shou - the style that the chinese government created and resembles shuai jiao + kickboxing, NOT some tai chi sparring or "free sparring"...I wanna learn axe kick, side kick, scissor takedowns, supplexes, etc...not tai chi forms.

So far I've only found a few schools:

Brad Daddis-apparently he competes and calls himself a sanshou champion (no specific award mentioned)
His website says he teaches san shou to advanced muay thai students.
I have a feeling he doesnt teach true san shou but instead teaches muay thai + judo and calls that san shou

Wushu (Chinese martial arts) and Tai Chi (Taiji) training.

Master Li Pei Yun - in nj
Ok, apparently there is san shou in this school...but it's not in the schedule!
I'm guessing that the san shou he teaches is free sparring and not a martial art style

heres some more schools i found...http://www.kingofsanda.net/
again, no philly or near philly schools!

come on guys, i could really use your help with this

No - there are not any SanShou schools in Philly. I actually have a group that does SanShou - notice I didn't say school. We get together at a school where we work techniques. I bring in outside instructors (like boxing & wrestling) to improve what we have. If you're interested in checking it out let me know. And no - we don't do any forms of any those things. We also have competited in a couple of SanShou events affliated with the USKBA.

I was thinking about checking out Philly-MMA there muay thai fighters are pretty good - I've seen them in competition.

Li Pei Yun - his school is wushu school - as you can tell by his website
