There wasn't too much to look at really.
The idea of getting together with other clubs to spar seemed impressive at first. But it turns out that the guy also has other clubs in these styles anyway.... so it may well mean that people from his clubs just train with each other. That isn't the same as, for example, popping into Thai Boxers gym and saying "We do Wing Chun. Anyone wanna fight?"
I note that he is part of the William Cheung lineage. I have made my thoughts on Cheung clear in the past. I think he was very cheeky indeed to claim that his version of WC was the only REAL Wing Chun, secretly taught only to him by Yip Man, with everyone else being taught a purposefully flawed version.
He got his just desserts when Boztepe proved him wrong, even if both of them looked like a pair of disabled puppy dogs when they fought.
Look at the "links" page. On it are some clips, including Cheung demonstrating "Self Defence."
If these guys think that this nonsense has any meaningful relevance to self defence then I would avoid them like the plague.
If you are looking for some kind of slef protection training take a look at this -
These guys are in NYC also and will probably provide you with more good stuff and less bull shit than most.

I have no interest in them, and they have little relevance to modern day self protection in the western world.

I bash plenty things, and I support pleanty things.
The things I bash make bold claims with poor and dubious evidence..... the ones I support often make little in the way of claims, yet have more than enough real world evidence to support their practices.
imple really! Only those who project their ideas of self worth onto an art get all hot and bothered when that art is questioned. They need to invest in themselves, rather than train in this or that and desperately try and get some kind of reassurance from it.

My bro recently moved to America and is currently a Dr of Biochemistry at John Hopkins. He was going to check this wing chun school out. I have been majorly disappointed with American wing chun previously (although Grados was fairly impressive), but if anyone has been to this academy please let me know of your experiences.

I'm the one who posted it because I trained under Sifu Julian Sawyer. He is a great instructor; really street smart born and raised in Bronx New York. Despite what Thai Bri may have to say; tell your brother to go for it. Sifu Sawyer is really hard on his students but it is for your own good. He is in the direct lineage of Grandmaster William Chueng.
