  • SENI/Kamon

SENI festival that is occurring at EXCEL London Docklands is going to be one of the biggest martial art expos in the country

This year, Kamon Martial Arts has a stall there and will be demonstrating its practical approach to wing chun and street defence.

For those people (Jubajii and ThaiBri...) who are not convinced by wing chun they have seen in the past, come on down. The instructors there are friendly approachable guys and will not be offended by questions about the art.

Kevin Chan will also be performing a demo during the day and it is worth watching it as it is what got me into Kamon

I was hoping that it would be in Birmingham again. London would be difficult to get to.

Now let me be clear. I know that MMA techniques are good. I also know that this is largely what they are doing in the clips on their site.

Its a bit like me saying "My Ford Focus is a brilliant car." And then trying to prove it by turning up in a Ferrari with a Ford Focus badge pinned on it.

      Hahahaha awesome point!!

MMA is good, but the instructors will be doing wing chun. Sometimes we chuck a chokehold in or sprawling methods etc, but I would say that 95% of what we do is pure wing chun.

The clips on the site are an example of what Master Chan trains (separately)
Not many people in Kamon are professional BJJ guys (I only do a bit now and again). Similarly, I train boxing but that is separate from my wing chun training

Please feel free to attend and have a look ThaiBri. Hopefully you will see moves that convince you that wing chun isn't all that bad.
