  • martial arts newbie

hey everyone, I just joined because I need some professional advice, I really want to start learning a martial art, I always have but now Im 100% serious as Ive started strength training, I really want to learn a chinese martial art, Im not sure why but it seems to me like martial arts sort of originated in china, I wouldn't know but If anyone could help me choose one It would be much appreciated. I live in the UK, in the yorkshire area so if anyone could reccomend any good teachers that would be fantastic.

I look forward to reading the responses

From the wing chun side of things, I know that Alan Orr lives up that way and is worth checking out.

One of my guys, John Hands, teaches in Leeds city centre. He teaches Jun Fan Gun Fu, Kali and Self-Protection. John is a former Royal Marine and Doorman with years of frontline experience, he is also a great teacher and a really nice guy. That may not be the specific Chinese route you were looking for, but I wanted to let you know about him.

      His website is www.leedsmoderncombat.co.uk

If thats not your thing, I used to live and teach in Yorkshire so drop me a PM with your location and I will see if I can help.
