maybe it's a branch of shaolin, maybe not.
if you like it, keep training it.

It's not real Shaolin at all. They are just trying to capitalise on the Shaolin franchise. Even Shaolin wushu taught at the temple isn't legitimate Shaolin any more.

Look, I've trained at thier main school here in Lexington (thier headquarters) and believe me it's not Shaolin......it's Shaolin Do. Sin The' is the grandmaster. If it were "true" Shaolin Kung Fu he would be living at the temple, not here in BFE (bum **** Egypt)Kentucky. SD is Indonesian Karate. And also, by studying there myself I can say it is a McDojo.

My teacher had a run in with some SD black belts at a tournament here in Lexington and 8 of them TRIED to jump my Sifu. I'll just say that he (my teacher) got the better end of them. Ask your teacher if he knows about the incident back in the early 80's at the tournament being held at Lafayette High School. Thats where it happened at. Of course he's going to tell a different story I'm sure.

I heard something about that. From what I heard I'd have to agree with you Jade. One of my uncles was watching that tournament and told me about 8 guys trying to attack 1 guy who kicked the living shit out of them. His words, not mine.

That was my teacher John dufresne that kicked the sh!t out of them. Dufresne is a wicked good fighter. I wouldn't mess with him.

Glad to read this, I saw this NYC Shaolin-Do school and their $420 tuition for a year was really interesting. I cannot believe the gimmick of training with Japanese Gi uniform when its a chinese style. There's a lot of those Indonesian styles claiming Chinese KF.

Now thats another school off my list.
