When an attacker comes towards me, and he is telegraphing his position, and his strike etc, it is not that hard to block it and walk over the bridge and strike the eyes, or to deflect it and strike at the same time he attacks. This is a very basic and effective technique.

And I agree that controlling the head is effective also, for setting up clawing attacks. But the element of surprise is also important.

My reasoning is also sound. Eye gouges can be applied with different styles and in different positions. I can as easily strike his eyes as he approaches me, or tiger claw the eyes as he grapples me. The angles and positions will vary but the techniques can adapt to them.

Your opinion is sound. Since all the "deadly" and DANGEROUS techniques have essentially been stripped away from sport fighting OF COURSE any fighting style that retains them is going to be more PRACTICAL for self defense.

The problem is with your REASONING ability. Don't you think it would be easier to acomplish your eye gouge with your enemies head and neck isolated in a compression hold than trying to strike (snake style) while he has full range of motion and can easily parry your attempts at those "vital" targets?

Can you imagine a man who says, "ok, I'll test my deadly techniques on you" and he goes into a fight, deflects the oncomming attacks quickly and kicks the man in the groin so hard that the man is winded, he quickly spears his fingers into his eyes until he hits the back of the bone and the eyes are full of blood. Then walks over his bridges and locks onto his head twisting his neck or clawing into the eyes and gouges him, as the person falls to the ground,he breaks his arm and steps on his neck so hard with his foot that he hears a crack in the neck, then falls hard with his kness on the ribs of the person on the ground and they colapse into his lungs. He then turns the man over on his stomach and breaks his spine. Then to finish it all he reaches foreward and pulls back his hair as he grabs his throat from behind and crushes it. What kind of person would that be to do such a thing? By the way then he gets arrested for such actions.

And by the way, I would be afraid to do such things to another human being. .....

Wrong. I already told you my principle of fighting and self defense. I am not a scrapper as you seem to be. Such techniques are only for life and death situations and within kung Fu there are such techniques, if a person wants to talk of survival combat there is a grat difference in this to the MMA sport fighting in the ring with rules. A clever distraction, again. I am not talking about fighting you, I already talked about that over and over and I wont get into it again. I am talking about you posting anything at all of your martial arts. Also a picture of you doing any techniques, or even a picture of you just standing in a Wing Chun stance.

Why not post some pictures of yourself doing even the most basic of Wing Chun techniques. You say you have about a mere three years or so, that should not be hard. Who is your instructor and his name and lineage, and show some pictures of you and your classmates. Even better yet, a video of you doing any martial arts at all.

Why not do this Ben? I am just waiting for the excuses and attack and upon me for even suggesting such a thing.And for you to say anything to avoid doing this. Just watch everyone as he makes some excuse why he wont do this.
