MMA Sport fighting and Kung Fu combative, the real difference...
correct me if i am wrong... but isnt MMA mixed martial arts?
so i might be wrong here, but couldnt one train in Kung Fu and say BJJ, thus becoming a mixed martial artist?
Thanks,
MMA refers to the mixing of ranges (standup, clinch and ground) and not styles.
I just want to ask Bruce a question.
Why do you come onto these forums?
You must realise that no good comes of this.
Every forum you go to the threads go on and on
endlessly without you or the people you argue with agreeying
on anything. If you don't see any use to these posts and they
are not going to resolve anything then why post them?
If I made a post about how my armbar or RNC was un escapable
and posted pictures and then had people come and doubt me I would
not hesitate to allow people to come and spar with me to show them
that my technique did, or didn't work. This would most likely stop
all the naysayers from doubting me and I could maybe start a new
thread about a different technique, there would probably be alot
less doubters and flamers on my second post as the people would have some faith in me based on me showing them my first technique working against a resisitng opponent.
Now I uinderstand that your moral outlook won't let you get together
and spar with these people but then I am afraid you shouldn't be
allowed to make these posts if you are not willing to back up your claims.
So why exactly do you make these posts if they won't lead anywhere?
You haven't convinced a single person on any of the forums and none of the people have been able to convice you either.
- slide your fingers across your opponent's eyes?
- wear a "spikes ring" in ground fight?
- bite someone's leg when he gets you in a leg bar?
- kick someone's head after you throw him down?
- use leg twist to break your opponent's knee joint?
Sport is only the intermediate training process. Combat is the final goal. When someone jumps on you in a dark alley, there will be no:
- referee,
- rules,
- illegal moves,
- tap out.
The mind set will be different between 'sport" and "combat (how to kill)".
No threat intended. I'm legitimately intersted in crossing hands with him. If I knew where his school is I could ask in person. I'm sure if he agreed, it would silence many of his critics regardless of how poorly he did. True? Just a friendly sparring match would do. Full contact, with the option to tap if put in a lock or hold that either he or myself couldn't get out of. I know he would still refuse, but I've nothing to lose.
He apparently has other students. I saw a picture of it in DL somewhere. He uses his son to demonstrate because he knows his son will comply 100%. He wouldn't try it with either you or I, simply because he knows that he would be thrown into the ground hard and unable to continue, badly beaten and unable to continue, or tied up in a knot and unable to continue. Simply put, he knows he can't win. After reading Kung Fu is stylish and gay - Page 340 - No BS Martial Arts however, I'm tempted to call my friends in Canada, and ask them to find this guy's school. I know he works in Ontario, Canada, and that he's a freelance artist. It's enough for them to find his school. So I'm going to amp up my training as well.
Three (people)
Just between you and me and TC... this is beginning to seem more than a little threatening.
Don't waste your time typing stuff for me to delete...
TigerClaw......If your a teacher can we see some pictures of you doing techniques with some of your other students other than your son, maybe someone of bigger size than you to show that these techniques work against a bigger opponent?
A short video would actually be great and go a long way.

Dale,
He won't cross hands with you. I have asked him many times and he has refused since he is "so deadly" and doesn't want to maim/cripple or kill me.
