On the second one you may need to bend forward a bit so he can't take you to the ground . If he tries shift to the side and continue with the technique.

NNNNNNNNNNNNope, I believe this technique is can be done even by a smaller woman against a larger opponent. It depends on leverage and proper body angles and torquing of the body.

I have done this technique against full resistance and even from the ground position as well.

I think it is one of the better escapes from this RNC or blood choke.

Leverage, Chin Na techniuqes, stances, body positioning and locks etc etc are all part of this technique and they all follow the principles of CMA.

The only thing I would mention about this technique that i did not show, is if the person tries to pull you back, you need to crouch and bend forward slightliy and shift your body to the side, this allows you to strengthen your position.

Why didnt you include pictures of the attacker resisting? or better yet an attacker that isnt a boy hanging off your shoulders?.

When somone goes for a choke like that you only have a few seconds before lights are out, fiddling around trying to reach for the arm and bend it this n' that way is far to technical; you need somthing simple direct and easy to pull off in a high stress situation.
If hes going to stand there like a nitwit why not stomp back at his knee cap? it'd be alot more reliable to do that than to try reaching back to grab his arm losing valuable seconds, especially if you are shorter since you wont have as much reach.

Sorry this has just further proved you've never had to actually APPLY that technique, this is likely the case for majourity of your "experience"

Yep and if the person knows what they're doing then your off balance backwards too. Actually I think it requires about 10-20 seconds to put someone out with that choke.

Anyone got anymore, preferably simple things to do about that one? I posted a shoulder throw earlier from the submission101 guys and described the KM version I was taught which was essentially driving backwards and hoping you drive 'em into something hard enough to cause them to let go.

This technique works great in a high stress, resistant situation. i have done this like that. It can be done very fast, if PROPER TECHNIQUE AND PRACTICE IS DONE. Like every martial arts move.

And it is very easy to get that left hand up under the elbow.

I suggest some try this first and when they see how very effective it is, then come back and comment.

The pushing up of the elbow is much easier than catching the hand at the back of the head. But even the hand catch at the back of the head is not that hard.

This is one of the better escapes against this technique.

I have been shown an escape for every hold/submission but I have been told by military S.M.E.'s and civilian L.E.O's that a properly applied RNC works so fast you don't have time.

During grappling we put the arm bar, or any submission, on progressively to allow the other person to tap. Otherwise it would be a limb/joint/tendon damaging matter. So basically, once the arm bar is on, the question of escape is pretty futile. There are plenty of ways to prevent it before it's on though.
