TigerClaw, I tried your defense on my bro today, and it worked. So there.
    Which defence?

How long did it take to escape/counter?

How old is your brother and how long has he trained for? how long have you trained for? I tried his RNC and it didnt work for me, against someone smaller then me.

    Thanks,

Hey Ben, for my information and interest and you please show me how you would escape a standing RNC?

So far i have seen alot of people's post about how incorrect and bad his escape is but haven't seen anyone say what to do for the people who are actually interested.

    Thanks,

Because if he did that he would have to show that he learned real grappling (which the LARPer has never done).

As he described it, you don't eye gouge or strike the spine. Well, you 'can', but it isn't fundamental to the technique.

Let us know how it goes FIGJAM. I am genuinely interested to see how it works for you. I already know Bruce's response to whatever the outcome, but someone who hasn't always agreed with me giving it an honest shot is a good thing.

Make sure you step back as Bruce demonstrated. The person shooting should have their head outside (I won't go into that) and make sure the attacker is driving forward through you, not stopping when the make contact; they need to drive through you like it would be if someone really attacked you. Have him mix up the timing so that you don't know when he is shooting (surprise attack which is 'the norm' on the streets).

I'm curious how much time you have to try to find the jaw, bridge of the nose, eyes, etc... before you are on your back and the attacker is burying his face to protect it.

I tried his RNC escape last night. It isnt much fun getting choked out... especially by your 13yr old brother who is shorter then you. That was the first attempt. Second attempt i told him not to choke but not to just let me out.

5minutes later i broke free using your technique with my own touch of turning my head into the elbow and burrowing through a small gap. Might work if one reacts fast enough when the aggressor first wraps his arm around you, but if it is locked on.... sorry it doesnt work.

You have a large room filled with 100 born -again Christians. Anyone is free to enter the room and hang out. An Athiest who hates God and Hates Christians comes into the room and won't stop talking about his views, despite the fact that the other 100 people in the room do not agree with him, and actually consider his views offensive. The other 100 people are all loudly telling him he is wrong, but the Athiest insists he is right, and they are all wrong in his opinion.

Now, Tigerclaw, would you consider that Athiest somewhat insane to go to a room filled with Christians and push his BS in front of them, not just once, but over and over and over?

Would it not be better for the Athiest to just go find a room filled with other athiests, so he could be among his own kind?

Or do you think it is perfectly ok for the Athiest to come in and repeatedly disrupt the Christian's time?

I am asking you this, as a Christian: How would you feel when that Athiest (who is entitled to his opinion, no matter how wrong it is) comes in to your room that has you and 99 of your fellow Christians, and tries to push his agenda over and over and over again? How would you feel about that, Tigerclaw?
    thats gold material right there

It might be best to discuss techniques with no malice and doubtful disputations. All the massive heap of lies and false assumptions that snowballed into a huge mountain of nothingness on Bullshido, was intersting to watch as others dug pits for themselves and went on and on in their lies. But it was also irritating.

    Wow.

That you think you never make errors again points to your being insane.

Why not just call yourself a master and wear shaolin robes like Brian Gray??

    You really have no clue.

Have you tried them on people who train on a regular basis in some sort of grappling or wrestling art?

Have you visited a BJJ, Judo, etc... school to try it on students there?

How can you teach these things without having trained under or with someone who grapples/wrestles on a regular basis?

Would you like me to teach Kung Fu?

and here is a closer look. You can also hook the chin or the bridge of the nose.

reach over with the other hand. This is another application of the technique. hee are a few different ones. You can also lock the head with one hand and strike the spine or back of the neck with the other, using a leopard fist or pheonix strike.

Warning: be very careful not to practice this technique with force in combat. It is too dangerous to practice fast. It needs to be done with great care in with the supervision of a instructor. It is a very dangerous technique, more of a survival technique.

A few important points about this technique.
    1. have a strong stance when attacked. try to avoid , (for this technique) the attacker grabbing both legs.

    2. As he comes in lean forward and offset the force of attack, also shift to the right with the right leg as you lock the head.

    3. Even if this attack takes you to the ground you can continue with the technique.

    4. Keep the left hand close to the body.
Here is your original post, unedited.

I see no mention of eye gouges or small joint manipulation.

You mention "You can also lock the head with one hand and strike the spine or back of the neck with the other, using a leopard fist or pheonix strike." but this is optional as you have put it (use the word "can"). Thus, this strike is not fundamental to the technique.

As you have described it, this would be legal in "sport" matches.

    But we don't see this.

    Why not?

I will not bring up anything from the other forum we were on. I will only see what happens here and use accurate quotes from this thread. I do not think it is helpful to change people's quotes in this discussion and we should see what you have to offer.

Does this sound fair to you?

Here are the Vale Tudo rules that I found. It took me a while just to find these. It was harder than I thought it would be.

    Forbidden techniques
The following actions are not allowed:
    1. Biting
    2. Spitting
    3. Scratching
    4. Hair pulling
    5. Finger locks
    6. Head butts
    7. Attacking the groin
    8. Poking fingers into eyes
    9. Fish hooking
    10. Pushing windpipe with thumb or finger(s) or squeezing the windpipe or adam's apple
    11. Elbows to head or face in B-class contests.
    12. Striking downward using the point of the elbow.
    13. Strokes to the throat, back of the head, neck and spinal cord
    14. Grabbing the ropes and refuse to release the ropes and/or hanging the limbs of the body
(hand(s), arm(s), leg(s) or feet) over the rope intentionally. A fighter who places his
upper arm over the rope during the match shall be given a warning immediately.
    15. Escaping to the outside of the ring
    16. Throwing the opponent outside the ring
    17. Stalling or failure to initiate any offensive or defensive attack. Making no attempt to
    finish or damage the opponent.
    18. If one is standing and the other is not in upright position, the fighter who stands is not
allowed to kick or knee to the head.
    19. While in upright position and having an opponent in a neck lock it is not allowed to
throw him, or even try to throw him.

A fighter who commits these illegal actions shall be given a warning, in the form of a yellow
card, by the referee and such illegal action shall be a negative factor for decision. Third warning
during the fight shall disqualify the fighter. A severe illegal action can lead to immediate
disqualification, e.g., if the victim is not able to continue the fight after the first forbidden
action, the transgressor will be disqualified. The fighter shall be fined 10% of the fighting fee
    per warning payable to promoter.
