Maybe you heard of Yang style, Chen style, Sun style, Wu style etc. Those styles Tai Chi belong to the North Tai Chi Quan. The video by master Gu , you watched belongs to the South Tai Chi Quan. It's rare in China. It's emphasized offensive and every moves have the real meaning in actual combat. It's not just for nice look ^_^

I'm seriously asking what is the main diff in Tai Chi styles. I've heard of it didn't know it had so many flavors. Are they major changes or minor subtle ones. And I'm sure I could watch a video of all of them and not notice the differences.

Tai Chi Quan has a same source, but it becomes many styles. All the styles have their own characters.
My english is limited, i'm sorry, i find it's difficult to explain clearly the differences between all the styles by english.But give me some more time, i wish i would tell you my thought about Tai Chi Quan in China little by little.

In ancient China, also in present China, people have not the standard material to teach Kong Fu, including Tai Chi Quan.In ordinary, a master has some apprentices, he teaches them by demonstrating and explaining. But different apprentice has different comprehension.Some inherit their master's Kong Fu, some change it, and others develop it.
If a apprentice developed Tai Chi Quan, he founded probably a new style,and called that new style by his surname. For example, Chen style, Yang style, Chen and Yang are the surnames of two men who founded that two styles of Tai Chi Quan.

I'm curious about the Southern style. Can you provide some information about it? Do you mean Zhaobao? If not, how recently was this one developed? Looks really interesting

Zhaobao belongs also to northern style.
The northern style (Chen style, Yang style etc.) commenced in north of China, the southern style in south.
In the past, the southern style Tai Chi Quan was taught and precticed just among the Taoist, so very few people knew this style. Nearly 40/50 years, this style has been gradually taught among people who were not the Taoist.

What is it's name? Do you know if it's taught outside of China?

As I know, Li Hue Ba Fa is a type of Quan which mixed the Tai Chi, Xing Yi and Ba Gua.

The name of the Tai Chi Quan of Master Gu Chongshi is 'Yin Yang Tai Chi Quan of Taoism'.This style is rare in China, I think it's rare also outside of China. Master Gu Chongshi has told to me, he has a apprentice , she went to South American, and she teachs this Tai Chi Quan there.
