Tagalog Translations Please

Howdy folks,

I know there are some Pinoys on this sight (and some who just know a lot of Tagalog!)

So can anybody tell me the translations for these words please:

Slash/Cut, as in striking
Pommel/Butt, as in striking with

Also, was wondering if there was a proper FMA term for Sabre-grip and reverse/ice-pick grip?

Sungiti is 'thrusting' right?

My Tagalog isn't that great, but here is what I know. The "butt" of the stick is commonly referred to as the punyo (I'm not sure thats spelled right but its pronounced with a soft "u" like in the word "put" and a long-ish "o"). Typically at my Doce Pares school in Baltimore we pronounced the forward (up) grip as a "langit" grip and a reverse (icepick) grip as "lupa". Since I don't really speak Tagalog I'm not sure if those terms are Cebuano or Tagalog though. Hopefully more replies will answer your questions more successfully.

slash-as in attack is Taga.

Butt(punyo) in striking Pukpok.

Sabre grip-saksak/langit(heaven)

ice pick grip-pakal/lupa(earth)/susi(key)

Lakanpopot, does pakal also mean 'earth' as well as lupa?

NO.
Lupa means earth-as in the tip of the knife is pointing down to the ground or earth.
langit means heaven-as in the tip of the knife is pointing up to the sky.

pakal is the term used for the ice pick grip.
saksak is the term used for the hammer or sabre grip.

It's just like. Hi, hello,whatzuuup!. that kinda thing.
