I was wondering if Arnis is good for work as a Bouncer or a doorman. I'm looking for a part time job and I was thinking of going taking a job in security during the summer (I'm a college student).

FMA at the door
In germany there is to less money for to much risk on that job. I think FMA is good for work as a bouncer but the most important questions is: for what did you train last two years? If FMA just was a hobby from you, i'm sure your skill isn't enough to stay alive at the door.Originally posted by RapidAssault16I was wondering if Arnis is good for work as a Bouncer or a doorman. I hope you understand what i tried to say to you.
Kind regards from germany, Mike

good luck! it depends on your proficiency now and how much pratical combat skill you've acquiered. also, it helps if you've had street experience and some understanding of combat psychology and conflict diffusion and escalation.Originally posted by RapidAssault16I was wondering if Arnis is good for work as a Bouncer or a doorman. I've been doin FMA for about 4 or 5 years now both formally and informally. I did Muay Thai/Boxing/BJJ/Wrestling and Jeet Kune Do for a few years as well. I was just wondering how Arnis held up in a real fight. Arnis master Sam Tendencia worked as a doorman for a while, so I guess that's when the lightbulb in my head went off lol.
Maybe I'll try looking for something in Concert Security....
