  • Texas Kali Mastery Camp

    Greetings,

The Texas Kali Association would like to announce our up coming event, the Texas Kali Mastery Camp on October 15-17, 2004. The camp website is up (http://camp.texaskali.org/) and contains the following information:
    • Camp Information (overview, goals, schedule, and accommodations)
    • Instructor Bios
    • Registration information
    • Printable Documentation
    • And much, much more

There is an “updates” section that displays the latest information regarding the camp. Currently we have posted our Texas Kali Mastery Camp video in this section. If you have not attended the past 2 camps, this video will give you an idea of some of the training we go through at the camp.

The Texas Kali Mastery Camp is a great opportunity to improve your skills, learn from certified and expert instruction, train with other kali practitioners from around the nation, and overall have fun. Advance registration is available and recommended to ensure your spot in the camp. September 18, 2004 is the last day for advance registration. A discount will be offered to all who register by this date.

Please feel free to pass this information to any Filipino Martial Arts enthusiasts that may be interested.

If you have any questions about the camp, please email your questions to kalicamp@texaskali.org or post your inquiries on our forum within the TKA website (www.texaskali.org).

Thank you for your time and we hope to see you there at the camp,

    Regards,

This is gonna be so cool!

I just sent my registration in to attend this camp.

I wonder who else is going, or who else is interested in attending.

I saw the promotional trailer vid, and it looks MORE than legit. It ROCKS!!

the head instructors of this camp all appear to hail from the Pekiti Tirsia kali circuit. I find this to be a camp worth looking forward to for the experience itself.

rock on with your stick on,

    Dan

You want to go to kali-camp? LOL That's rich....

Think your mom will give you 265.00? (only 245.00 if you register in the next two days!) LOL Did you even try to click on the link? I know it's a lot of reading to find the info you want but if you think that's a pain wait untill you get your cranium or knuckles whacked with a stick....LMAO!

While some of the boys are playing...

I've witnessed verbal jousts of Kali practitioners from PTK guys and among each other from another thread concerning the legitimacy of a certain figure that has raised some controversy in the PTK circuit.

I can care less about that. I am going to do something about it this coming weekend of the 15-17 of this month(October).

My only "formal" and American experience to Kali comes from the Inosanto/Lacoste blend through being a student through Tim Mousel's academy in Houston, TX, since 1992.

I only know what I have witnessed and heard coming from Guro Inosanto and other PTK practitioners,(of and about PTK) as well as learning of a few techniques of the art itself, and I like the hell out of it.

This camp I'm going to I figure represents the art itself coming from certified instructors under GT Leo T. Gaje himself.

If any of you guys are going(the serious ones btw-heh) please contact me through e-mail.

                        SIncerely,
                        Daniel Arola

Daniel A. Good things await you there I'm sure! Hope you'll take a few minutes to think about those of us who can't make (that would REALLY like to). Compose your thoughts there or even take notes? Share your experience! Thanks in advance!

                              Awesome!

I attended the Texas Kali Mastery Camp the last weekend of the 15th -17th of this month(October).

Oh Man, I learned alot of COOL SHIT!

The instructors, Leslie Buck Jr. Erwin M. Ballarta, Rudy Salazar, Rene Rodriguez, Roy Fitzgerald Jr., Rich Reynolds, Arvee Garde, and James Cabansag were all very helpful with their assistance and feedback in making sure each and every one of us were training properly.

This was my first ever formal introduction to Pekiti Tirsia Kali from a core PTK group.
My only other resource for PTK was through what I learned from Guro Dan Inosanto in his seminars, and from Alvis Solis (Hound Dog) in Humble, Texas as applied Dog Brothers style.

This Camp worked everything from single to double stick, knife, Malayu Sibat(4' long 2 hand staff), Balisong, Espada y Daga, Dumog/Pangamut, etc.

Pics of the camp can be seen in my yahoogroup site in the photos folder.
