Someone told me Guru Inosanto no longer certifies students. Anyone know if that carries any weight? I suppose I could probably just ask him after class, but I would be embarassed to waste his time with a rumor type of question.

A stupid question (mine)

You have the man himself as your instructor, I assume you train with other students with access to his knowledge and you bring the question HERE?
Sheeesh....

"You have the man himself as your instructor, I assume you train with other students with access to his knowledge and you bring the question HERE?"
We have more important questions to discuss with each other in what little time we have together, certainly I would not approach guru with such a lame question.
The reason I "bring the question here" is because the thought crossed my mind when I was reading through some other posts. Being that it was just a silly question, I saw no harm in just throwing it out there. Judging by some of the other posts, internet forums seem to provide the leisurely atmosphere for such discussion.
But thank you any ways sir, for sharing that flowing wealth of knowledge with me.
Or as you say...... "sheeeeeeesh"

Get a grip boy, in your own words "I suppose I could probably just ask him after class, but I would be embarassed to waste his time with a rumor type of question."
My advise is don't put the man so high on that pedestal that you fear to approach him with your questions. Then, when you know the answer you can say with some authority that the rumor is true, or not...

There ya go! Thank you. Certificates don't mean a thing to me but some folks like that sort of thing. Many seminars provide certificates of participation or completion of a training event. Academys should have some form of diploma for "graduates", right? Then there's the whole "rank" thing? On second thought, maybe he should eliminate them completely...

To ask a question is but a moment of embarisment.
To never ask is but a lifetime of ignorance.
I heard something like that once and just though it would fit.
Anyways I envy you as I wish I could get to study with him. I am hoping to get a seminar with him sometime soon.
Good Luck
