Any one know any stick drills I can do by myself to improve my single/double stick work (I do w,x,t twirls) Basically I'm looking for warm ups that I don't know about and coordination exercises (I'm not comfortable with double stick).

Douche bags, look I'm asking if there are any that people have found worked for them. Yes, go get some videos, seminars, blah blah and you'll encounter the same old twirls/warm ups you morons. That's not the ultimate wisdom, that's a lame response from someone who just wanted to respond to a post without ever considering what was being askedA simple - this is a good warmup and
is all that I cared to read, not a bunch of bullshit that skirts around the intent of the thread. This has now steered the thread to a completely different direction (probably your original intent seeing as your trying to be smartass pricks ). The purpose of this thread is just to get people sharing some of the stuff they do - providing necessary information and helping fellow martial artists (not as you thought - providing simplistic drivel that has nothing to do with what I was asking - "join an eskrima class" - duh I said I'm doing certain warm ups already stupid.)

how about...
double sticks, do alternate up and down double twirls on both hands. when you do the twirls, as much as possible keep your fists closed. it's a good workout for the wrists.
double sticks, do the sinawali as long as you can. and then do another version of it, wherein strike #2 goes for the legs. and then, do another version of it, the reverse sinawali.
them sinawalis fuckin freak me out! i'm kinda not used to it yet and gets lost most of the time. any tips? or am i just stupid?

most of the filipino martial arts styles use the sinawali as the core. So, if you understand the sinawali concept, you mastered the system/art. From my own experience the sinawali give you back what you spend.... if you use it just for warm up, you only get flexible hand whrists and else. If you use it for coordination only, you only learn to coordinate you fuckin' two hands..... but if you use the sinawali all the time of your training and transfer each idea from a drill into another drill (stick, doublestick or empty hand) you get a perfect rounded system within your system you train.
Work on your sinawali, it's the key.....
All the best, Mike

Originally posted by little bad boysorry but i have to disagree. arnis is not all about sinawali dude. and, neither do i regard it as just merely a coordination drill. but i really am working on it.
And i didn't said it is all. I said it is a system in a system
All the best, Mike

but i think sinawali is a combo of strikes. like... if you get to block or parry him and manage to put him in a lower position than you are or set him up on his blind side, rain on him with those sinawali strikes and his done. but aside from the sinawali strike combos, there are other strike combos too. right?
peace dude.
