The grappling arts imply most fights end up on the ground. The striking arts imply all fights start standing up. The clinching arts imply the clinch can stop the striker from striking, and the grappler from taking it to the ground. The weapon arts imply the they can stop the unarmed man. A complete martial art implies any fight can go anywhere...be ready and able to go everywhere.
Decado, nobody else is responding because we all agree. Kombat Instruments, Limited is the best place to buy rattan sticks of high quality. Go buy some from him. And tell him what you want, he'll have it.
Decado,
If you're looking for good sticks that you can cut to whatever length that you want and still only spend about $3 per stick, I recommend a company called "Bamboo and Rattan." It's where I order all of the sticks for my school, and they have diameters from a quarter inch up to monstrous 2 and a half inch goliaths. The reason I like these guys is that they're inexpensive as hell, and the rattan comes to you in ten foot lengths. I buy a hundred bucks worth at a time, and it lasts my whole school for five to six months. Plus, it's nice having good sticks that you aren't going to be heartbroken about when you blow them out. We hit pretty hard, and do a lot of Dog Brother type drilling, so our guys go thru sticks like nobody's business. Bamboo and rattan keeps us in supply for the kind of workouts that murder most fancy, burned and patterned sticks. Their number is (732) 370-0220. You might give them a try. Remember, the stuff is sold in 10 foot lengths, so don't ask for kali sticks. Just tell them the diameter you want and how much.
Hope this helped.
Mike
Bamboo & Rattan Works will also cut the poles to whatever lenghts you want. Their rattan is raw though. You can fire harden it yourself(I did this using Guro Jeff Finder's instructions) or use it raw I guess. KIL's sticks are already firehardned and the nodes are sanded.
