  • Frank Cucci knife & stick

Has anyone ever seen his instructionals on the knife & stick, http://www.centuryfitness.com/webapp...egory_rn=13756.

I'm not concerned with his other ones on hand to hand only his knife & stick. I know he's certified under Dan Inosanto's kali system and as well as the lameco style. Also, could anyone give a lowdown on these systems too.

never seen his video but trained at his school in early 90s , its jkd with a VERY heavy Mt influence and of course the obligatory bjj. the school is Functional Defensive Concepts in Va Bch VA.

for my money Datu Kelly Worden is the best stick bang for buck.
And for blade James Keating's conceptual gold series is freakin DYNOMITE!

Actually Cucci's school is now called Lynx Academy in Virginia Beach.

sorry don't know much about his instructionals.

I went to his school and was told first had to do 3 years of Muay Thai before any JKD work and no sparring.

I was there about three years ago, the phone books still listed the old name but they had moved to a shopping plaza on providence. I was planning on training but I had no desire to work on muay thai for that long.

nice looking school though. I also didn't understand how you could train without sparring.

not very well was my general take on it, but he used to be next to the Chuck Norris tang soo do School so compared to that...He may have changed the name due to the fact that it was commonly called dysfunctional fighting concepts due to the lack of experience from sparring.if you get the chance check out Duncan Leung's old WC school it is also on providence if memory serves me right. They also do alot of Hop Gar now that Duncan returned to China. But they are still pretty rough for a KF school even w/o Duncan being around.

Have you seen Arsenio Advincula's set or the Vee Jitsu Arnis te stickingfighting tape; this is with Frank Galante not David James. The prices on these are just too cheap to past up, if I don't get these I'll at least get the Frank Cucci ones.

Well, I've seen his guys compete in MMA, muay thai and bjj so there is sparring, but probably the no sparring is for the average joes that don't like contact.

Maybe he has changed his format somewhat (hopefully) the no sparring thing was pretty well enforced, we would drive over from Dam Neck (vunak sure as hell had no rules against contact) to "play" with Frank or his people and the rule was no contact...the bjj was the only real contact and that was "advanced" class I never figured this out..Frank has skills...he just seemed hesitant to teach em to his students.

yeah I spoke to Frank several times. And he said it was all pad work. 120 a month, 1 year contract. I already had done some JKD and MT so I wasn't really interested in the MT. I did not see the BJJ at all. In fact I don't think Frank is there anymore, I was told he was hired to be the manager of security for Disney. But I can't confirm that. Just want I was told.

I have since left virginia so I don't have a clue what's going on back there now.

He's still here and it is now called Linxx Academy. I never studied with Frank, but I did some work at his house. A buddy of mine that's a retired SEAL said he was the real deal and was a trainer on the SEAL teams.
Don't know if he cahnged his training style, but you can check out his website. LINXX Academy
