  • FMA maximum representation February 18th!

Just wanted to share with all my braddahs on deluxe that this weekend, I have four Strictly FMA fighters fighting empty hands in a Ring of Fire (rocky mtn fight circuit) show in Colorado! Their empty hands is purely fma, and they are putting it into the lab, so wish them luck! "Mabuhay ang suntukan at buno" These guys Haven/Drew the vanilla gorilla/Shannon/and Rick have been training super hard, against college wrestlers, and stand up strikers so I am sure they will bring their game face! Myself, Mark Hasigawa from Oahu, our coaches Loiue Lagunsad and Kuya Keno Balles, hope that they can do us all proud & help show the world that FMA can stand with just about anything!

      2 more days!

brotha ern dog check your pm!

We got weigh in's tomorrow, for the fights on saturday. looks like some tough guys on the card, this is the organization that duane ludwig primarily fights for. (ring of fire). tonight we just chilled prepared mental, orasyone, shadowboxing, pad work, and some light stickfighting to emphasize the footwork that is easy to lose when you take the stick away. we had one of the olympic judo guys, go over our standing clinch defenses to be able to best use the creasing and twisting from dumog, course lot of stuff illegal when ya in a competetition so we had to keep fine tuning what we can get away with. then we went over defending the single leg head inside and outside. I'll keep ya posted on the results, pero palataya sa bathala, palataya sa sirili. I wish more FMA guys would go out, and represent because overall volume of fights is what measures success for an art, i.e if one of us loses automatically people say see we told you, but if there were a lot of us competing, and one loses it would be a high success ratio. anyway, just sharing... lata braddahs! malakas at maganda!

            Braddah Haumana2000,

What are you guys using for your emptyhands? Slaps, punches, hammerfists, bolo puches, knife/sword hand? Your boys been imersing themselves in emptyhand from a paticular system or more of a blend from multiple sources? What about your legs and dumog?

How long your boys been training for this?

            Good Luck braddah!

            Represent!

sorry brutha gruhn! We just da po' guys, no site yet! But Imma try to post the vid's here as soon as we can get them processed

Crucible, the empty hand sportion of what we do yes does include pretty much everything you mentioned, and comes from my Uncle Josefino' Marquina, and his son's james and patrick. I believe he is from Ilongopo.

We had good moments and bad ones, as we went 2 for 2 and had one of our guys opponent, call at the 13th hour (his trainer was there ready and tell his trainer he didn't want to fight?).

first fight: Shannon' our guy, fought a tough battle against Brad Champlin. Shannon, won by fighting unorthodox and false lead while continuouslyparrying the jab, and getting closer. They clinched, and shannon, used a beautiful, neck crank and control to slam his opponent to the fence, and attempted to g&p. Brad was worthy though, and escaped, they clinched again, and the knees flew, then the bell rang. 2nd round, shannon, cuts the angle of brads jab, 3 consecutive times, sliding right in connecting but is not finishing with combos?, so we yell at him to finish, the guy jabs, shannon waslik's his jab and enters with the same elbow crashing down, and sends him to the floor to win! one of the best fights of the night.

Haven Torres Our guy, vs, joey jesser.
Haven is one of our prodigys of our camp, he's 142 5 ft 5 and all muscle, he can throw flying knees, and elbows from all angles, has a mean sipa lakas, and awesome angular footwork. he fought 6ft joey jesser, same weight but long and lanky. haven came out with all the right stuff, and use footwork to great extent, then the guy managed to take him to the ground and mount him, as haven covered and worked, the ref stopped, it. he took no shots, whatsoever, but maybe he saw what we did not early stoppage? maybe a little.

our 3rd fight simon gonzales (our guy), fought a guy from new mexico, simon who was the only one of our guys who had prior experience, jabbed, clinched to his opponent down, and choked him out in seconds.
Finally my guy, rick borrego ( a great friend and one of my oldest students, was forced to quit in btweeen round one and two, by a game young and mean, mike medina from new mexico). At 36 years old, and still game, He was outclassed and outfought on this day. My hat goes off to him, Luv ya Rick!

overall and exciting night! and hope this isnt boring anyone! but the lab is a fun and exciting place to be. We have 3 more guys fighting in march in vail for mtv spring, break including the comeback of the Pinoy warrior louie lagunsad! peace and adobo grease gabriel.
