  • Two ideal weapons

I'll open this to the floor of Martial Artist's that we have in this forum.

What are your two ideal weapons? Firearms not allowed

I think for all round use, Machette. I say this as you can attack at range, cut, sever, kill.

Second I would say Jo staff. Again because of range and the amount of different moves that it can be used for.

    Let's chat about it.

WHAT?!?! I can pick only two?! LOL

Ah well, let the games begin...

    1) This new sword coming out soon by Atienza Kali

-It allows for awsome slashing as well as the ability to thrust. I've held it and I must say it's a beast. I'd hate to be on the end of that thing. I can't wait to buy one of my own!

    2) The Floro fighting knife

-It's a good, large size for close-combat and fits Pakal (edge-in reverse grip) fighting very, very well. I am a Pakal-kinda guy so this knife would be great for me.

Two weapons from two of the top FMA fighters out there. Check them out.

    God Bless,
    Mike

Monk, Nice choices. It's hard just picking two!!!! I have something very much like the floro. A bit smaller but it's great fun. I carry it all the time.

The rattan is very good, we use very thick canes, I'll email you a picture of me with some. It's also legal to carry them in the street. What would be your second?

Do you do any weapon training or is your Art all unarmed?

                Weapons

Sometimes it's hardfor others to know if you do weapons in your Art. I study Escrima Concepts, which is a Full Contact Art, which is both armed and un-armed. All rounder really.

                and this is me

under black belt weapons training is up to the student. Once you hit black belt then you study weapons as a matter of course. I think they currently training in bamboo.

What are your two ideal weapons? Firearms not allowed.....

                    Let's chat about it.

Ideally a weapon should be legal to own and carry. Ideally a weapon should be easily concealed and quick to deploy. Ideally a weapon should be able to eliminate a thread rapidly. There are a number of ways to do that without killing someone or chopping off his arm.

I like my little karambits... but a short stick will work in a pinch...

                      Snap

Tant, Once again we seem to agree. I carry this style of knife in my jacket all the time.

Very handy to have on you, good for close combat.

That was you first, did you say a short stick was your second?

Well actually, I usually have a straight knife too but yeah a short stick is my second choice behind a knife...

                          H Chick,
Bamboo, what stick's or staff's. Have you done or seen the training?

Just for the record, have you planned any big wedding lately?

"Traditional" Hapkido weapons are: cane, short stick (around 12-14"), rope, knife, sword, fan, and stone or coin (projectile).

Good luck on your testing Hapkido chick!!!
