  • Pekiti Tirisia / Dekiti Tirsia / 5 Intensive Days

The forrunner of the Filipino Martial Arts is this country is Pekiti Tirsia and Modern Arnis, then came Doce Pares and scores of other systems, styles and many of these instructors were all over the world long before it hit.

Today SinaTirisiaWali became more to the reality of these Philippine & Indonesian ways of the arts and sciences we call Kali Silat simply put: Can I stop you, can you stop me?

You can have the experience I have because I believe in sharing with one purpose, we both grow, when a teacher shares his/her knowledge both the teacher and the student grow. This has been my effort in getting you to learn, why, because it helps us, by helping others.

We plan a semi-annual program in Kali Silat for this purpose, it is the way. There is no other way, then sharing, it is the nature of life to be sociable, giving, and growing. In making this my life's work since the early 70's when I began this journey, if nothing it's helped me to be a better person for it.

If you train, why not train students too? That will certainly give you more understanding for what you practice to achieve, consider that in every city there's some Filipino, as a matter of fact in every major city, how can you possibloe learn what you'll need to practice.

It's simple the originial 64 attacks of Pekiti Tirisia, the breakdown is as follows:
first 12: Abecedario the way of striking, most all abecedario have similarities because this is a basic way to develop.
The next 10: This is the original four wall, 5 drills represent the training necessary to learn what to do with the incoming attack and how to protect yourself.
the next 3 are payong: Payong does not mean umbrella, ask any Filipino, it means overhead, you get the idea.
On to Dakup Y Punyo: Capture and punch is the literal translation, it is you first competative drill.
Five attacks: Basic to every Filipino system, it's what you use in combat, not fighting, but finishing.
break in/break out: Learn how to penetrat your opponents space, it's not what you know, it's not what I know, it's only can I stop you, or can you stop me, not matters what!
Seven attacks: What is this? Well it was added for special purpose, usefull is sparring, and, well it was added on so we have more stuff.
Clock system: Wow! This was just some smoke and mirrors, yet these fanning type strikes are very useful anyway, but really! "Hit your opponent on the right time on his birthday and......." Well this was never a favorite, yet I remember the day as if it were yesterday when Grandmaster hit Tuhon Gaje, Jr. Tourney at the International center October 1981, yes it was an accident, but shows you the reality of protecting first, attacking second.

I'll share all my experience with you at the next 5 day program in Virginia Beach September 8th - 12th at the Hybrid Academy of Martial Arts, 5476 Virginia Beach Blvd. 5 intensive days, and the rest of your life to practice. Come and see for yourself, why I guarantee your satisfaction in learning and growing with us. P. Greg Alland - sharing Pekiti Tirisia, Dekiti Trisia, and SinaTirsiaWali.
