  • Vee Arnisa Jitsu

I have the ESPY-TV 6 video series on Vee Arnis Jitsu. Does anyone out there or has anyone out there ever studied this art? It seems amazing, and I have learned so much from just viewing the tapes. I just want to no one else's thoughts on this art. Is it really as impressive as it seems?

There is no doubt Vee Arnis Jitsu is a fantastic martial art. The techniques work in all situations. I trained in NYC with Professor James for 3 years and before that for 12 years in other disciplines. It takes into account body size, motion, and emphasizes real situations. It's difficult to translate into words, but if its power translates across those videos to you, I can reiterate its effectiveness. Also, we trained like mad at the dojo, which was right by the WTC. I'm sure they would be more than happy to refer you to some ppl. where you are if you called or sent Prof. James an email.

      My 2 cents

          Sanuces Ryu

No. Prof. Powell teaches Sanuces Ryu. I believe he did study with Prof. Vee and came up with his own style. It definitely has alot of similarities to Vee Arnis Jitsu from what I have observed. There are alot of students who studied under Prof. Vee and then started their own styles, i.e. Kumite Ryu, Sanuces Ryu...

Heijutsu is right, moses powell was a student of prof. vee but doesnt teach the same system, vee arnis jitsu. he has created his own system sanuces ryu based partially off of prof. vee's system. professor david james, the sole inheritor of vee arnis jitsu, teaches it.
