Two guys got into a dispute with a bouncer (they were violating the no-smoking policy of the club where the bouncer was working). During the dispute, a friend of theirs who is purported to study (have studied) Kali, jumped in and slashed the bouncer's femoral artery, resulting in him bleeding to death. The purported Kalista fled and when he found out that the bouncer died, attempted to kill himself by slashing his own wrists, etc.

        this is shocking
IAM SICK OF PEOPLE LIKE THIS............

As a man who has and still occasionally bounces and train security personnel often. Iam sick of Aholes like this ismail. Man i have also been in similar situations in the clubs that i have worked in people will pull weapons out on ya. Its always the little folk that do it first. I dont think the cops should blame the fact that he was trained in the FMA we dont know what level he was anyway...................

THE SIMPLE MORALE OF THIS STORY IS THIS THE REALITY OF THE KNIFE.......MANY OF THE DISARMS ALOT OF PRACTITIONERS ARE LEARNING ARE NOT EFFECTIVE, ALOT OF KNIFE DISARMS WILL SIMPLY NOT WORK WITH A AGGRESIVE KNIFE WEILDING ATTACKER ATTACKING YOU.........

REMEBER THE KNIFE IS VERY VERY SHARP A SIMPLE CUT COULD SEVER ARTERIES OR EASILY PUNCTURE THE SKIN TO PENETRATE THE ORGANS,

hopefully this guy gets the full punishment given by NY. He has taken the life of an innocent man who was simply doing his job..
My condolences to the victims family, from all of us who are in the protection industry...

        thanks

In the UK, knife use is on the increase but already at a high level. In one night on the door i personally confiscated 11 knives, collegues confiscated more.

          this was quite shocking.

In the UK door staff are often told that if you have a maniac with a knife in your club and he is hurting people, call the police, get as many people out of the way as you can and leave it there - DONT ATTEMPT TO DISARM THE ATTACKER.

If you work in close protection/bodygaurding - you are paid for this sort of work, if you are a doorman you are not. You are told not to risk your life for one nights pay!!!

In reallity i have only every been in the situation with a knife once and a team of us stopped and restrained the guy. It was stupid of us to do that regardless of our training.

          Just some thoughts,

          Cheers,
          Chris.

in australia it is the same thing knife use is on the increase, i think this is because of both countires (uk and oz) very heavy gun laws, with the uk perhaps having some of the best (most restrictive) gun laws on the planet.....

            thanks

The problem here is not FMA, or MA. It's the media and the individual who is now sorry he ever used his knife. Someone, I can't recall who, wrote that if you engage with a knife, or any weapon for that matter, you should be prepared to kill with no regrets. No looking back. Otherwise, stick to non-lethals, such as a dulo-dulo or ballpen. Even these can kill of course, but in the eyes of a judge or jury, the suspicion of intent to do so would be absent or significantly diminished. So we should all give pause and think about knife training. As Steve L. said, we can learn from this.

i agree. if you pull use and dont cry about it in the FMA or in the MA @ all we train to (excuess my lanugage) but we train to **** someone up in a fight and not get hurt our selfs @least that is why i train so this guy who jumps out with a knife because he had one is a dumb ass and should be made to pay for the crime that he did. knowin that you can cut someone here/here/here and they can die does not make you a bad ass. i think that ppl dont realize that on the street its not like a school fight it real and a knife in combat is really real. i believe that the real MA would have stoped the whole thing from happing in the first place. o well just my thoughts even though it might not make sense

You may train more. you may be a better fighter, but when we met in combat i will win ULIKEIT
