  • Bastons are deadly weapons?

I was thinking of sending some sticks to a friend of mine in the US and I was told by both DHL and FEDEX that these are considered deadly weapons and would be held at customs and sent back? Is this true?

And is it also the same where you are, (if you don't reside in the US)? If it is, please mention what country your from and the limitations on importing sticks and other martial arts weapons.

I found this so funny. they're just little more than 2 feet of rattan. what makes them deadly are the hands that move them.

Yeah, I been wondering how tight the security measures are right now in the PI. We were going to have my sister a barong (Clothes/not sword) sent for her graduation, but have been wary of all the crap to go through.

sending stuff out isn't a problem. But the warnings from FEDEX and DHL have made me worried about sending FMA stuff to the US.

About the barong..man, that would be a bitch to ship. It can't be folded without ruining it. It would be a shame and a waste to have a barong shipped from here and having it end up crumpled beyond repair.

(A barong is a long sleeve shirt and made of very delicate, finely woven pina fibers. It is never tucked into pants and is transluscent, making it difficult to conceal weapons underneath it. )

Yeah, we are wondering about having one made for her here, It wouldnt be the same, but at least she could still feel good about being a strong pinay!

I don't know about having it made there. Of course nothing beats the craftsmen here when it comes to making barongs.

I suggest you get someone to handcarry it on a flight from here. That's the only way I can think of that will keep it from getting damaged.

Nanay ko taga Davao, Mindanao orihinal, then Manila. I wish I knew more pure Tagalog but am limited to Patois, some know it as chavacano ya know? It's good to see other Pinoys here.
