Can anyone point me toward a translation of the following?

    Pipit

    I know it`s from a folk-song...

    Salamat-po,

    T.

    Ok, here's my personal translation..

"Someone struck at the sparrow in the branch of a tree
and the rock snagged (or struck) the wing of the tiny bird

Because of the pain it could not bring itself to fly
And what happened was it fell again, like a person declaring.."

Note: your version end there. But the whole folk song goes on..

    translated:

""Cruel sir, your heart cannot be merciful,
as my life comes to an end,
    Another little sparrow shall cry!""

It's a bit clunky but I'm not good at translating poetic verse from Tagalog to English.

      Cheers!

Thanks a lot! I asked someone from work yesterday and he actually sang it for me.
