I do agree with your reply but if you can't find someone to learn from then what there not a great deal of silat teachers here in the Tulsa,Ok area to choose from everything is leaning towards MMA and the ones that do teach seem to be money motivated not carrying on the art

You can only learn so much from a video. You shouldn't start training anything by video and really they should just be a reference. Nothing beats hands on training.

Is it realistic to train from a video? And if so what videos would you suggest to help get started perhaps one that explains terminology, movements your opinion would be appreciated. Also when you are searching for an instructor what do you look for regarding Silat what makes him or her legit?
