In order to experience true peace you must first overcome true hardship.

1. Any power that can be abused will be abused
2. Abuse always expands to fill the limits of resistance to it.
3. If people don't resist the abuses of others, they will have no one to resist the abuses of themselves, and tyranny will prevail.

Originally posted by Thai Bri I remember attending a Thai Boxing class where the adults trained alongside the children. The instructors went way overboard on the "games", it was embarrassing. Once we were 35 minutes into a 1 hour class, and we were all still warming up by playing ball tick.
I made my excuses and left...........
We do the kids separately. The kid’s classes are an hour long and the adult classes are two hours. We do classes twice a weak Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Mondays we have a self-defense class for all our students and kids are welcome and train at the same time as the adults but are separated. This class is one hour long.
On Wednesdays we have our sparring night, which is an hour long. We don't have the kids in on Wednesdays. Also our sparring nights are open to the public. Anyone can come in and spar with us, regardless of style as long as they follow the rules.
We go hard contact to legs and body and light contact to the head. The black belts do what ever they want.
At my School we have quite a few kids (they train seperately from the adults). One game that seems to work quite well is that the instructors and some adult students will go up to kids at random and grab them by the gi and try to drag them off the training floor. If the kids can deliver an effective self defense technique before we can drag them off we let go. If they can't they are out. The last one on the floor wins.
