  • KArate school in North America

Ok, i just find it reather irritating that there are so many diff. types of karate yet the only schools i've seen are just called Blah Blah Blah Karate Association etc....

They never specify what type of karate. I just wanna know if there is a common type of geberal karate practiced or do all these school practice someting diff?

Maybe all North American Karate schools invented a watered down version for marketing purposes? I dunno, all i know is that i went to "KArate Masters" for 2 years and it was apparantly Tae Kown Doe, which they admitted but i still stayed. y The **** would u call your Dojo Karate Masters? Y not Taoe Kwon Doe MAsters?

Anyways any light shed would be cool

not so much looking, but wondering y there are so many diff. types of karate, yet schools in North America are just broadly called "Karate". Not Kyoshin or Shotoskan but there just called Northern Karate School for example or MAster Bob's Karate Association. U get wut im saying? What the hell are they teaching?

Cause if there was a school that taught Kung Fu, for example, they could be teaching Wing Chun, Choi Lay Fut, Bak May, Wuzuquan, Shoalin style, Wu Shu, etc..........Its too broad yet all the schools never ever specify.

Could they be teachign kick boxing and just calling it karate?
