That's fine, so when you post "I've found judoka to be kinda weak at defending leg shots." That doesn't "kinda" stink?

Nope. If I had said that I found it "easy" to thwart attempts at throws by judoka, that would smell.

Leilani is John Holm's stepdaughter. She is an example of a well trained Judoka/ judo player. She is a triple crown champion three years in a row.

Here are some videos of her high school wrestling matches. Keep in mind
she is a girl fighting teenage boys. But also a 22 time national judo champion.

good example of judo against wrestlers if there is much of a differance

Why would I question her Judo credentials? Why would you need to repeat them? As for girls wrestling, well let's just say that is another conversation all together and in the present case not an applicable example.

I think you're the one that needs help jubaji but I'm not qualified.... what you need is professional help.

The leg takedowns you think work so great against Judoka are bread and butter basics. Any realistic SD lessons should address this awesome wrastlin takedown...

FYI The April issue of grappling magazine had the "ironclad" defense against takedowns and now I know everything I need to stop a wrastler...

NOT! LOL go find another player to hate. You can't judge everyone else by your own crappy standards...

Experts tell us frequently to "master the basics". What do you suppose they're talking about?

May I suggest some combat grappling lessons? The Judo/Sambo/wrestling freaks will love you!

Or check out Santos Flaniken's contribution to that April issue of Grappling... good stuff.

Look At The Video's.they Clearly Show Leg Pickup Attacks That Are Unsuccessful But The Judo Throws End Up Making A Big Differance By Winning The Matches.

Why Wouldn't These Pertain.shows A Judo Champ Holding Her Own In Wrestling Men Even Though She Is Female. I Mean If That Doesn't Clearly Show Judos Superiority Then You Must Just Have A Closed Mind. Notice She Is The One With The Raised Hand At The End Of The Matches.

                            A) If you really want to discuss the issue of women wrestling, start a new thread. Its a long story

                            B) What you linked was a wrestling match. You knew that right?

                            C) Would a judoka losing a wrestling match discredit judo for you? If so, I have bad news for you...

Do you have anything that does not feature women or young children? Maybe some senior citizens, or the infirm?

Cross training in one art with a background in another gives you advantages. If you are a top competitor in the other art, you have body mechanics, confidence, strategy and fitness that will transfer over into the other.

The conversation was orginally a wrestling vs. judo, style vs. style comparison. Most people agree that wrestling has the upperhand - this isn't saying judo is without its merit, because judo has its strengths.

Again, its like the old boxing vs. muay thai argument....

But most only agree because we allow the Wrestlers to use GNP but what wrestling devision uses GNP? ( appart from prowrestling)
