so if i ever find myself lying around on a cushioned surface with some guy and a fight breaks out between us bjj is the way to go huh? well i train for realistic threats sonny and since im heterosexual and married, i wont be lying around on the ground or any surface with a dude, WHEN a fight breaks out...we are gonna be standing up...i agree that in most fights someone goes to the ground...the loser. in the ring they almost all go to the ground because thats what you train for...Duh! however in the streets only drunks, kids, and bumfights end up on the ground. i feel going to the ground on "deadly ground" with an unknown number of probably armed assailants is just not my idea of good self defense but hey im not a professional athelete...

Books? yeah i can read and i like to research arts for myself...i dont trust other peoples OPINIONS with my life so yeah i read books you should try one sometime maybe the art of war would be good for you. As for kicking air. yelling? uh no maybe you oughta stop buying all the bullshit your sport spouts...and as for training in the garage yeah i do and i also train in the living room, front yard, the car... and several different schools. if telling yourself that i am the karate kid makes you sleep better at night you go right ahead...continue to underestimate and make fun of arts you know nothing about...you cocky little peckerheads crack me up...a "new" flavor comes along (bjj) with fancy marketing (ufc) and you are like wow thats the shit...i was doing ground work realistically, working against non-cooperative standing striking opponents probably before you punk ass was born. Ever head of judo or jujutsu ? yes i spent 6 months to evaluate the new kid on the block (Bjj) when it came out YEARS ago and then i moved on...it would be foolish to ignore the new fad...always study the possible threats you may encounter...i expect i will standing or sittting when attacked...and i only hope my opponent is silly enough to try to shoot in and take me down in the real world...see jr i have taken the time to learn your crappy little variation of older more realistic Martial arts...fights start standing...not lying down...your precious gracies apparently didnt enjoy being thrown...so they got rid of the dangerous parts....HAHAHA that says it all...this (martial)???? art will be safer to train without the more dangerous aspects of takedowns and throws...yeah GOOD thinking...enjoy yourself , whats the point of playing sports if you dont have fun?

Minotar, Minotora, Silva, Rickson, Arona, Ruas, Bustamante, Rodriquez, Royce, Royle, etc etc etc etc..............good thing these guys never studied BJJ, had they done that, they wouldnt have won any MMA events, for thats a waste of time, and in a real fight, which is SO UNLIKE a MMA fight, BJJ is not needed, and why waste ones time with a martial art that totally and completely dominates the others in every aspect?

<yeah i read books you should try one sometime maybe the art of war would be good for you.>
-oh, books? I have BS in biology, a BA in Literature, and a minor in Philosophy, plus I almost finished a Masters in Lit., but was making so much money, I would lose money going to class, so I dropped out. But I've read more books than most people do in ten life times, all in which included the greatest writers of the western world. As it turns out, Nietzsche was the one I identified with the most. I like Blakes poetry, the Four Zoas, that was a fun read, as was Joyce's Ulysses, with the veritable plethora of unknown vocabulary at every page....."the ineluctable modality of the visible, at least that much, if not more, thought I"....something like that.
As far fights, I learned that BJJ is best, if that doesnt work, I use the ole "karate kid" method of mind control, which is best utilized by grabbing the gun.
