The more you watch it the more obvious it becomes some kinda choreographed demonstration of aikido techniques. The idea that anyone can be led around helplessly by a wrist lock is just silly. Taekwondo free sparring holds more reality-based self defense.

I stopped watching after about the tenth "attack". As none of the attacks would have done anything even if he had stood still!

You know what's funny, though? The whole arrogant Seagal attitude. His swaggering around the mat, prompting each attacker that it's their turn with a slight lift of his chin, subtly waving another guy off like "that's enough out of you"... If I were one of the Japanese guys I'd be so tempted to kick his legs out from under him and drop 'im!

BTW, 1996 was not really that long ago. Have you seen him lately? What happened?!?

He discovered burger and fries. He's now a 7th Dan McDonaldo-ka.

                  Thinking about it now

It's so cool to see how our perspective(s) of traditional MA changed since the introduction of MMA. Maybe in the late 80's, most of the members here would have been in awe. Now we can look at this as BS.

                    Thats very true.

Theres many a super human martial arts myth been beaten by a right cross and a rear choke.

                    Oh yes.

Interesting comment Bri.... That's about all it takes... Of course if they're up on some pedestal you may need to knock them down first.
