If you are saying tilts aren't an effective way to gain points in wrestling, you know you're wrong.

If you are saying I don't tilt, you obviously don't know I do a claw ride tilt in almost all of my matches.

I was implying your ineptitude in any and all contexts.

Oh alright, I was talking about wrestling not being a martial art. You can go off on whatever tangents you favor, which is usually internet smack-talk.

And that's what led naturally to my reiteration that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

What is your definition of a martial art.

I want to see just how far it deviates from the dictionary.

I don't consider all combat oriented sports to be martial arts, though they obviously have implications in combat.

Here's the one and only point: You are a young kid whose experience in these matters amounts to playing grab-ass in the backyard with your buddies yet you are the first to pontificate on any and everything as if with great authority. STFU and at least wait until you are dry behind the ears before declaring what is and isn't a martial art.

                  ......

Mars is the god of war and agriculture. Organic farming is a martial art...

Many martial art weapons are based on old farming tools.

You should see me hoe! LOL

                  Are you done yet?

I think this is the longest post I've read from Ju... I'm impressed!

Sometimes you need to break it down and spell it out for us.

I don't think you have to be an artist to identify colors and lines.

I don't think you have to be a war hero to talk strategy.

I don't think you have to be a marine biologist to identify a tuna fish.

I never said I was Mr. Martial Arts over here. You seem to really like wrestling and consider it to be a martial art, so my disagreement sparks you to get personal and make all these funny little homosexuality comments. I like wrestling, I am a wrestler for my University (URI's club team). I've said a million times that wrestling (and other combat sports) has implications in fighting and self defense ect... Though wrestling is a sport, a sport where you pin a man to the ground. It is not a system of self defence, it doesn't involve philosophy or morality, it is a full-contact contest involving many grappling skills, but the objective is to pin a man onto a mat.

(Oh jeez, I haven't gotta personal yet and said "you are a queer for disagreeing with me, JEWbaji." I don't throw in errelivant and random insults. I'm trying to get to the point here, what do you call a martial art? What makes something a martial art for you?

But you don't learn just colors and lines and then strut around telling artists what isn't art.

But you don't watch a few old John Wayne movies and then strut around telling Generals what isn't strategy.

But you don't eat a few cans of BumbleBee and strut around telling marine biologists what isn't a fish.

                          Right?

                            I knew it. Another pebble-snatcher.

I'd be interested to hear both of your definitions of "martial art". What makes some things "combat sports" etc. rather than martial arts? It's a subject I'm interested in and have posted about before.

I know I've posted about this topic before, but at this point the topic is just flat out stale to me. If you've got rules and a ref. it's a sport fight, if you don't than your life is in danger and it's survival. Those who train for sport practice many techniques that are valid for surviving an assault, and those who train for self-defense will never get far if they ignore the fundamentals that are so important to a sportsman. In the end what difference does it make what you call it? A rose by any other name...
