i was wondering how effective ninjutsu would be in a fight, is it similar to jujitsu in the limited strikes? because restraining is all well and good most movies/books show striking as the main event with some throws thrown in
thx
As a long time practioner I believe it is very effective, there are not any limits you do what is necessary to survive. Do not base anything on movies and books.
I always like to think of Bujinkan as a cross between Japanese ju-jitsu, aikido, aikido sword techniques, karate, judo, Krav maga, kenpo and other weapons techniques.
i think all self defense arts use what they think would win a fight. Hapkido is basically aikido locks and throws with taekwon-do kicks and a little kick-boxing, well thats what it looked like to me when i was doing it, it revolved round momentum work, using your opponents force against them
