jo and bo

What is the difference between a jo and a bo?And what are they made out of?Thank you

Essentially the bo is a long staff, the jo a short one. They're typically made of white or red oak. A typical jo is 2/3 the length of a typical bo. I seem to remember something about a bo being cut to the height of the wielder's eyebrows.
