Ali will struggle, but he will probably win in the end. Bruce is, after all, dead.

      God not another one!

Ali hands down. No Skinny light weight will beat a heavy weight especially the caliber of Ali. There is a reason for weight classes you know.

Lee never fought professionally, I don't know why everyone keeps comparing him to professional fighters.

Forget Ali, what about foreman or liston in thier prime. And Bri is 100% correct to compare a welterweight with a heavy weight.

Bruce was asked this question and answered Ali would beat him in the ring with boxing rules and he [Lee] would beat Ali with no rules

man, if any of you knew the value of technique, alignment, economy, then you would know bruce would win. ali had bouncy footwork, he was rarely balanced, and the only reason he won all the time was because he could take a punch. and look at him now. no disrespect to him, i admire him a lot, but if any of you have seen a warriors journey (bruce lee's unseen game of death footage) and you see the clip when he is having a few takes at being chased by kareem round the pagoda, you will see that he moves literally as if he is on fast forward mode! i don't think ali could do that.
oh, and ali was built for endurance, bruce would have leveled him in a second.

lets all face it. With boxing rules, Lee would have been screwed. Even he said it.

Bruce knew how to get in and get out faster than the blink of an eye. Kareem couldn't touch him, even with a 2 foot reach advantage.

In a boxing match it could go either way, because Ali has more power. In an NHB type fight, Lee would beat him within the first round.

I am a heavy weight 220lbs. There is this 2nd degree BB in our dojo 18 years younger than I, he is 20 years old. He probably weighs 160lbs and faster than snot. He can close distance faster than I can blink an eye and he’s out of there just as fast. He can mop the floor with me when it comes to point sparring. He also has a very successful tournament career under him including three grand point karate championships.

I challenged him to a full contact match. He accepted. He gave me a hell of a fight. He fights from a side stance and is very good at defense. So I went after his lead leg with shin kicks. It wasn’t long before I was able to get in with my punches and I landed a solid right hand. It was over for him. He (if a score was being kept) was ahead on points but he could not take my leg kicks or my right. He had to bow out.

I know Ali would not be using shin kicks to soften Lee up but Ali is a much better boxer than I and wouldn’t need too. I think the same thing would happen to Bruce, Ali has some fast hands for a heavy weight ands sooner or latter he would land one on Bruce. I totally respect Bruce Lee but he isn’t superman.

I just love how many of you seem to have assumed that Ali was slow.

I am a fan of Lee as well, but he was not a God nor wa she the best fighter inor out of a ring and he never claimed to be. Kareem was not a fighter, at all, basketball - he studied with lee after the movie. lee's speed was not suprising considering Karemm was 20feet tall and 800lbs heavy.

the 2nd part I don't undestand, both were buildt for quick speed and endurance. Boxing is a sport so of course if you look at the possibility or goinhg 12-16rounds you need endurance, if they were in a ring lee would adopt the same philosophy.

But again heavyweight..........why not compare george Forman and Sonny liston in their prime. Would lee have beaten Helo Gracie in his prime? The list is endless, but Lee never competed, in the US. in HK he competed (boxing) and lost a few times which I am sure is the reason he did not like rules.
