A Northwest native, Sifu Denise Geroux has trained for over 17 years in the arts of boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Jun Fan Method, Kali, Escrima, Arnis, Pentjak Silat, Tai-jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and Jeet Kune Do concepts with additional training in Aikido, JKD Grappling, Shootwrestling, Tai Chi Chuan, and Juijutsu.
Sifu Geroux's teaching incorporates her considerable background in functional anatomy and sports kinesiology. Her goal is to help each student achieve their personal best expression of the martial arts through the development of efficient body mechanics and touch reaction sensitivity. Sifu Geroux is committed to providing students with the most effective self defense methods available while teaching the arts in a professional, fun, and safe environment. Her teaching is characterized by a playful enthusiasm and respect for each student's unique learning style.
Sifu Denise Geroux is a member of the National Association of Professional Martial Artists (NAPMA), a certified instructor with the American Council on Martial Arts (ACMA), and is the first woman in the Northwest to pass the instructor certification test to become a Certified Muay Thai Instructor with the Thai Boxing Association of the USA. Sifu Geroux has fought in amateur full-contact Muay Thai Kickboxing matches and has been a guest instructor at the annual Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists (PAWMA) Camp and has taught self-defense to numerous community groups and corporations.
An avid runner, Sifu Geroux has run several marathons, once running 53 miles in a 24 hour ultra-run. She is a Washington State licensed Massage Practitioner and Bodyworker, a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher of movement education, and a Minister who enjoys performing wedding ceremonies.
