I was wondering if anybody knew where to find a book or instructional dvd for the Jun Fan sets on the dummy and the JKD sets on the dummy.

It helps condition the arms and allows you to practice all trapping skills. The Jun Fan sets are the original movement taught by bruce lee. If I am not mistaking I think there are 5 Jun Fan Sets and 10 JKD sets. I could be wrong about that last part.

What we in JKD refer to as the Jun Fan sets are actually wing chun in origin. They were the sets that Si Gung Lee was taught during his wing chun days and later taught to some of his students before going more towards a free form method of dummy training. My understanding is that Bruce Lee knew the first seven or eight sets out of the 10 wing chun sets (I'm not sure whether he finished the dummy or not), but that he taught them in a different order. For example, in JKD/Jun Fan the student usually starts with set #3 rather than #1 because it is considered to be easier. The order I teach the dummy is 3,4,5,1,2,6,7. I save the dummy work for intermediate students since a lot of what you learn on the dummy sets is fairly complex and meant for situations that occur when you are playing with someone who already knows his basics (which is important if you want to take your trapping to a more functional level via sparring, you need a certain level of knowledge to keep the game interesting and more competitive). The JKD sets are really more suited for the way a JKD man is more likely to use trapping. They were created by Si Fu Inosanto from what he observed when Bruce Lee was working on the dummy, patterns that were repeated and various fundamentals to the trapping structure.
