I was wondering if anybody had any exercises to help increase hand speed in jun fan/kali trapping techniques?

Boxers speed bag which sells for about 39.99 and is easy to install in any basement or garge.

Plus repetition and constant practice leads to hand speed as well.

Yes, actually: It's called Greco-Roman clinch skills.

And, unlinke trapping, it ACTUALLY WORKS under pressure when working with a real fighter.

                re

Trying running thru all the "sil lin ne dar"
                moves from TAO OF JKD
at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and then full speeds. Try starting with 20 reps per day on chain punching and working up to 200. Keep the shoulder down and in,and be sure the hand bones are aligned. Veritcal fist for midline punch, horizontal fist for down punch, and anlge fist for face level punch.
Also, fingerjab and recoil punches against hanging paper targets, hanging rubber balls, or newspapers.

Strong and DeMile tapes and posts on forums have good tips.
The real key is to keep very relaxed and maintain perfect form with a delicate ease, as BL, says, while approaching full speed.
Also, shadow box with loose fists; use forearm muscle when hitting objects, only. practicing full circle parries at 3/4 speed is a good way to quicken your standard parries.

I like many of JKD's theories

S.B.G.I is the most evolved and functional JKD out there to date, we are not tring to hurt JKD but improve it, by bring back the functionality that Lee himself had, if he were alive today he'd be the biggest supporter of mma and S.B.G.I.
Asking that a technique be proven effective is a good thing it is the only way a theory becomes useful
Lee: "when what is, hits back"

Blue Wave you are right to an extent. Certain skills will only work for certain people at certain times. considering my size clinching with certain people won't work for me in close range.Bruce Lee's trapping methods have worked for me better against people somewhat taller than me. I do want to learn clinch skills as well. I do know that greco-roman has the best clinch skills.Even better than muay thai at times.I agree some of the stuff needs to be improved in JKD but trapping is a good skill for anyone to learn.

                      Don't confuse evolution with progress.

One way to improve your hand speed in trapping hands is to set up a drill in which you are cued to move and work with the idea of reducing the amount of time between stimulus and response. For example, hold your hand between the hands of your training partner. Whenever he touches the outside of your arm do a hinge backfist with a lop sao. Then practice a ball-and-socket backfist with a pak sao when he touches the inside of your arm. Next, let your partner randomly touch either the inside or outside of your arm while you respond with the appropriate tactic.

                        re

I would actually agree that Greco-Roman wrestling is the single best art!!!!

This post is not about the debate between filipino oriented guys like Vu and
mma fighters who think filipino trapping is BS. The original poster wanted to know about hand-speed pure and simple.
I would suggest, before another flame war starts, that one read Vu's own take on SBG. PFS & SBG share many simlarities, but PFS believes that fma sensitivity drills ( and weapons work!) develops attributes that can help with a range of issues in combat. To me,it is not a matter or right or wrong-- it is what works for the individual fighter.

I just recently learned Jun Fan set 1 and 3 on the wooden dummy for my next level. Just from learning those 2 sets my trapping has gotten much stronger. I appreciate the help. I'm going to try practicing the hinging motions, and ball socket motions with a partner.
