  • elbows/ knees/ clinch in JKD

Are elbows/ knees/ clinch trained very much in JKD? Not referring to something like PFS. But say more like people who train close to how Bruce Lee was training.

it has become more popular to train now than it was originally. Where I train there isn't a JKD "class" it's actually a MMA class based off of JKD and Shooto so we do work clinch often. this may/does vary from school to school.

I like using my elbows, to open up usually since people dont expect it (they expect you to start punching as most would) a sort of a backhand/karate chop place to start (lead hand pulled across my chest) so from there I could very well backhand, chop his ribs, or elbow him in the head, I usually go for the elbow since its sharp and defined, and hell be trying to block a more blunt attack (thus fail at the block)

thats just me though, others might have more open opponents.
