    For those of you that have posted or asked me about Savate before, here's the deal:

    Starting February 18, 2001
    SAVATE Boxe Francaise in NEW JERSEY

    TUESDAYS 7:15pm to 8:15pm
    THURSDAYS 8:30pm to 9:30pm

    Now there’s more chances to learn and train in this French style of kickboxing and martial art. You will learn to “box with the hands and feet”, in addition, if you wish to learn all the aspects of Savate, you may have a chance, including :

    - Boxe Française Savate (French Kickboxing)
    - La Canne de Combat (French Cane Fighting)
    - Chausson ( Old French Streetfighting)

    Equipment required:
    -Boxing Gloves, 12oz – 16oz
    -Shoes (mat-friendly shoes)
    -Mouthpiece

    Also, if you are a Savateur and plan on fighting next week in Bristol, PA at the SAVATE RENDEVOUS (USA & CANADA); you must email us your weight and glove rank ASAP.

    Can you tell me more on Savate im in Philly and im going to watch a Savate Class at the Bristol Club in a week or 2 are you affiliated with them and also if so do they teach the cane and old street fighting you mentioned. Thanks

      Hey Phillyman,

      That's the place! We are all under the same umbrella organization (NEW JERSEY SAVATE FEDERATION).

      Moniteur Norman Taylor is, like me, a big proponent of teaching all the aspects of the art including the Lutte, La Canne et Baton, etc.

      You will enjoy it there; plus, we occasionally teach at each others clubs so you will have a chance to come up with his folks when they visit our club (outside NYC).

        Can you tell me more about the old french street fighting and the cane. I want to know how the trainins is for instance is it like juijitsu, are the selfdefense moves,takedowns etc and is the cane shaped like a typical cane with a curved handle and used for say grabbing. or lead me to a web site that gives me this information thanks
