Just a quick vid from Sifu Rick Faye's Instructor Conference in February of last year, in Minneapolis. Rick is feeding some basic Jun Fan drills and I am fortunate enough to be on the end of them.

I first met Rick in the late 90's, and have since had the good fortune to become his student, friend, and and instructor in the Minnesota Kali Group. The way he breaks down the arts and teaches is, in my opinion, world class. Rick stands alongside the people who I feel have a true talent for articulate and charasmatic instruction such as Paul Vunak, Erik Paulson, and of course Guro Dan Inosanto.

Rick is one of only four living Senior Full Instructors under Guro Inosanto, and his team in MKG International has become a world renowned organisation.

I don't post this thread to overtly advertise Rick, its just that he doesn't get the recognition of so many other more high profile teachers. If you ever get the chance to train with Rick I strongly recommend that you do so, he has had a big influence on the way I train and teach the martial arts.

Funny story. .....

..Teaching JKD in New York, trying to get a phone number from a total stranger, I heard about a pretty amazing JKD teacher. I've still never met Hal Faulkner, but I hope to someday. I wonder if he'd remember the girl or her mother...

Small world, eh? LOL I don't know Hal or his wife Jill too well but I would be happy to indroduce you. I could give you his phone number if you want to ask him yourself?

He's a great guy. Might be getting too old for "someday" though...

I have had the opportunity to train with Rick and if you have a chance to do the same, take advantage of it. You will learn a ton and have a great time doing it.

Sure, I remember you, Diana does like to push the big guys around doesn't she! That was a great time last year in MN, I learned so much.

I'd dearly love to come to the Seattle camp in May, but I have so many other commitments this year its just not going to work. Next year hopefully.

It's an epithet used to describe a sycophant or kiss ass that wants desperately to be identified with the object of their admiration. Liberty, for example, might be considered a Bruce Lee nuthugger.

Nah, he's too short. Yeah, I greatly admire the man, but I'd rather be identified with, hmmm, let me see.... that's a tough one..
