  • Leaving for New York

    Hey Gang,
Wanted to fill everyone in. I'm heading out for New York City to help out with the relief effort. It looks like I'll get to go and get hands on and do some good. Obviously, I won't be on the forum for a while, but I wanted to take the opportunity to say this. America, and Americans, have a relatively short history, but in just a couple of centuries, this country has proven that the way to success is giving people the freedom to live the way they choose. I know we're not perfect, but I think that the US is the best country in the world, and I think that we should all find some way to help our countrymen.Whether it means going out and joining the military, making donations or giving blood, or even just staying put and supporting those who have gone to help and to fight by keeping your families safe and connected and informed, as fighters and as warriors, I think it's our job. After I'm done in New York, I hope that my unit will deploy overseas and give me the opportunity to pay some of these sons-of-bitches back for what they have done, and when it's all over, I'll come home and tell you guys the stories. I don't mean to sound like I'm on a soap box here, but we really are in a time of need, and solidarity and support are what will make the fight go our way. So to everyone, do what you can. I'll do my best to get a few bad guys for each of you.

    Bahala Na,
    Mike

I totally agree Mike. Even if all you do is fly an American flag, just show some sign of support. I'm donating everything from my next paycheck except what I need to pay rent and utilities (the company I work for is doing it as a group and the owner is going to match all the employee's donations). I'm also enlisting in the army. But even if you can't do something hands on, just donate blood or as little as 5 bucks to any of the charities going on right now. If everyone in the country just coughed up 5 bucks it would be a tremendous help and show unity.

Good luck in New York Mike, and respect to you for actually going out there.
