I heard about this on the underground. I'm not expecting much. If Linda and Shannon gave the OK I can't say it's wrong, but even if you have something that looks like Bruce, is there really any way to capture his fighting spirit. That's what made his movies cool, HIM. We shall see.

I see a bunch of post say F*** this F*** that and call people stupid names. Post that say we are ignoring what Bruce intended, but in those very posts I see the ignorance and intolerence that Bruce fought his entire life. Bruce never said anything negative toward individuals. He settled things as peacaebly as possible. He educated and enlightened those he was around. He just slam people. Why do you have such anger and hatered. It is comments like those that people see when they investagate JKD and precisely why they cannotr stand us. Instead of saying F*** Linda and shannon look at one simple fact. Linda has fought since Bruce's death to unite the family of JKD and maintain the purity of Bruce's ideals. Ergo should we not find out what the movie is about and why Linda and shannon (who love Bruce dearly) said ok. Educate yourselves and we might actually see a vocabulary develop and create an intelligent thread. Four letter words are primarily substitutes for a small mind and limited vocabulary. We as JKD men and men of principle should strive to speak with more than one syllable and with An army of knowledge, facts, and true insight behind all that we say. If this post offends anyone mayhaps it is due to the fact that is speaks of their own ignorance. (I am sorry for my harshness, but I have been in martial arts since I was five. In my 18 years I have been taught to seek knowledge, enlightenment and peace. I had and have instructors that say "a post should be well validated and informative.) It is ok to disagree intelligently. We as martial arts professionals must strive to a higher level to gain the respect of our peers in other work fields. I am told everyday of my life that martial arts is not a job and only buffoons would attempt it. Therefore I strive to be on the top of my game in skill, physique, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It is posts like these that I have just read that degrade all that i am attempting to acheive and even retard the growth of not only individuals but the Martial arts field as a whole. Instead of addressing serious matters and pushing foward to higher plateaus, one must instead sink to the plateau below and clean up the mess. Thereby ensuring that the newer people to not step in it as they climb up.

I was not speaking as a martial artist, as if that means anything, I was speaking as a human being, and I was allowing my first emotions on hearing this news to guide my words of anger. As for Bruce being patient and never slamming people, you are living in fantasy. Bruce would punch dignified old grand masters in the face without warning, if they asked him to punch them in the stomach to prove their strength. He would have no mercy on anybody who was trying to hold him back, and yes, he himself admitted that he had a violent temper. Why should I act like a robot? It made me angry and I expressed that in the post. The fact is, whatever this has to do with Bruce Lee, he didn't take crap from anybody, and he was ruthless when he was standing up for something he believed in.

And you know what, you are just as bad as any because you label yourself JKDMAN, you have taken so called Jeet Kune Do, as your style and your religion and your idea and your fears and abstractions just like what Bruce fought against. That's why he closed all his schools before he died. So don't try to talk down to people who are expressing themselves honestly.

"We as JKD men".... you are pathetic. Retard the growth of the martial arts? You are a true idiot. Who said any of this had anything to do with one's method of defending oneself in a fight with another person? It doesn't, it's a matter of personal opinion, but you can't even separate the two in your blind desire to be seen by the world as a "JKD MAN" because you lack the self-respect to be seen simply as a human being. Fighting and "martial arts" is a scientific and objective pursuit, the other is a matter of personality. But you try to tell me about the ignorance of others.

I hate to point this out monkey, but this is a "martial arts discussion forum." If you are looking for places to cuss and release anger there are forums for that. Here is where people go to learn about JKD, BJJ, FMA, etc., and martial artists themselves. Ergo when one speaks on a forum such as this whether meaning to or not is representing martial arts. As for my name "JKDMAN" First off I got that from my instructor. Secondly, JKd is a series a concepts and ideas that we adhere to and interpret for our use based on our own slant, needs, capabilities, etc. Everyone adheres to concepts for their daily life. Ever heard the term businessman. It does not mean business is his religion. It simply that is what he does. Same with me. Thirdly, the inncident you referrance with Bruce is this : He was a hong Kong TV show with four Masters and one said I have a stance that no one can move me out of. He assumed the stance and asked Bruce to go first being that he was the youngest newest and least experience. Bruce declined. The other masters pushed and pulled and could not this one master from his stance. Finally, it came time for Bruce to see what he could do. He got up and slowly walked around the master surveying the situation, thumbed and let loose a punch that sent the master reeling backwards into the host. When asked why Bruce did this he simply said "I do not pull or push, I Punch." He did not Haul off and hit a grand master. He was asked to find a way to move the master out of his stance and simply did so while showing the utter uselessness in such a stance. It seems to me that you just want to start trouble (if this is not so I am sorry and apologize) and I will not get angry and sling short sighted comments with you. Nor will I use words that can never properly express the level of excellence I strive to achieve. This is my job and my passion. I hope to see one day JKD united and camps done away with. I hope to see all the BS and hatered of this world done away with. That is why I teach to teach peace and self-perfection through the study of self-preservation. There is a time to fight a time not to. If you read Bruce's works you will see that this is straight on target. He had to fight years of tradition so that we could move beyond predjudice. He strove to inform and educate and even tolerate. Now if asked he would spare no words to a private individual but hey man they asked. He never publicly slammed people, nor did he look for fights. Please mange your anger. It does not reflect the control that Bruce strove to maintain and display, nor does it put forth anything more than bad press for martial arts and JKD on this forum. Both of which have more than enough bad press. Thanks. If you did not already know I have on good authourity that a senior level instructors in PFS must reach a point where they realize the concepts they have learned apply to everyday life as well. ( I am not a senior instructor, but that is a goal i hope to acheive.)Your JKD journey must promote growth not only as a fighter, but as a human being. I would also like to say I could care less if people make me out to be anything other than what I am : I am a man who loves his fiancee, Cherishes his friends, Respects those that deserve it and who happens to do JKD. I get paid for it yes, but my goal is to poperly prepare people to defend themselves. A few of them might on their own pursue JKD as more than just a simple method to stay alive. That, however, is not my decision. PS my religious beliefs are judeo-christian not bruce-dan.
