Quote; I'm only saying that this shouldn't become a conversation attributed to one religion, etc. I agree with much of what your post says, I'm just saying that people (whether right, wrong, etc) may take offense to language like "him", "Deciever", etc. if attributed to absolute truth.

Yes, I must admitt I was wondering if perhaps people would take it that way, and I am a little surprised anyone did, because I certainly did not intend to turn this into a religous conversation.....

The reason I choose the metaphores I do, it that they are easy to understand...( !? ) and that most people have heard of them before....( !? )
but also because this is the easyest way for me to explain what I mean...( cooming from a christian background and all....)
And to the ones that perhaps may find such terms as him and deceiver offending......this is the way I see the world. The way I understand it in regard to the truth. I am not using theese terms to.......impose my religion on anybody...so please respect my view and not ......be offended by it.

quote; You can talk about absolute truth in very realistic, and scientific terms.

hm.....realistic.....this single word may as well cause as much a philosophical conversation in regard to " what is reality " as my choise of words may cause a religous one.....
And sciebtific terms are perhaps not the most.....suitable terms.........I am not saying this to insult you in any way, only pointing that scientific terms usually tend to confuse people........

but other than this I really enjoy youre posts !

( and buddhism is very interesting....I think we may learn a lot from the religion and philosophy...!!!!! )

    Peter

PS ; christians and others....do tend to have a very egoistic motive for doing the " right " things..............

      Peter,
That's cool. I wasn't really trying to say it's bad to say that, just that some (sometimes trolls though) people find it an invitation to start using their "one quote wonders" to condescend religion without any philosophical openess. I'm pretty deeply religious, so I guess it was more of a trying to nip others in the bud instead of you. Though I might have come off a little too aggressively.
Anyway I enjoy your posts too.

      Gungfuhero, thanks!
Well to be perfectly honest I'm fighting my inner doubts and such as to whether or not I should take a chance with some of my JKD/martial art knowledge and actually do something with it (write a book, be an instructor, etc.)
I don't know. I train NHB-type training, but I don't fight in cages. I talk about self-defense and street awareness, but I think grappling is very formidable in the street on many occasions. Everyone has opinions and I'm just trying to find out where I fit.
Seems like the martial arts world is a little bit of this
and a little bit of this
And for me a lot of this
      LOL!

But I'll find my way. Because you're definitely right about crisis and opportunity.
