  • Pics of my fight with a tae kwon dork

Here are still pics of my little grudge match on video. If I ever find out how to post a movie file, I will do it in the future.

That's some funny shit right there, brother! Nice counter to the ol' bean bag. Must of hurt somethin' crazy. He does look like a numbnut though.

Something tells me he has no sense of timing either.

In JKD we call the kick you threw a front snap to the groin. It seems you knew just when to use it. Filipino Panenjakman kicking uses the same counter, only usually after a knee to the inner shin to stall the leg retraction.

      Good stuff!

        Nice

Pretty good timing there. Did you mean to do it or were you just planning on kicking him and misfired? Goes to show you what can happen when you don't gain control of an opponent's movement time before attacking. Nice though-I like I like.

Hey! Some of my best friends are TKD dorks!

That said, a nice Thai-style round-kick to the side of his un-protected jaw would have been a nice follow-up.

first off, it's "Tae Kwon Dork", hehe
as far as that kick, i wouldn't say it was planned, nor would i say it was plain luck. Basically it was an instinct, a reflex.
You had to have been there to see how it progressed to that beautiful nut shot. Sadly, he never got a good hit on me, and i only gave 2 kicks to end him (low kick to leg, and balls buster)
Mainly, he did the same type of kicks, which were not even penetrating at all, just "ricey" kicks that looked pretty.
Yeah, i wanted to bust his unprotected head, that cocky mofo.
But im happy with that last move. I think i made Bruce proud...
Not bad for a total street dude, eh?

Ah yes, I see now! I posted my first reply before I had read the background to this thread.

It's a shame that many martial artists lose the natural instincts of a street fighter and have them replaced with something that might be prettier, but is much less effective.

The more effective training methods build on these reflexes and hone them into something better.

I vowed from the beginning that I would never lose the good 'ol "kick 'em in the jimmy!" tactics.

The TKD kid is a fool for not wearing a cup.

While I'm sure it would have hurt less, even with a cup on that shot would have stung, giving Jee t time to follow up (probably would've pummeled the shit out of him).

The Japanese helped twist TKD into a sport during their occupation. Basically cultural sabotage. The Korean army doesn't even use it on the field! Who would? I prefer Hwarang Do or Hapkido among the Korean arts.

But you're right. Trudat for a cup!

                      I watched the video footage.

Looked to me like the TKD guy was all over you Jee T. If he hadn't been sparring with control he would have fractured your ribs with that sidekick, and could have smashed your face with the roundhouses instead of controlling his techniques.

If you are going to post this here, why not invite the TKD guy to the forum so he can enter the discussion?

                      Where was your JKD?

Oh Yeah, and if it was such a big challenge match, how come most people on camera are doing their own thing and not huddled around to see this impressive spectacle?

                        wow,

                        so many questions.

                        1) You think just like him, and sure he was all over me, but he was not at all "controlled" in his kicks, just punches which he can't do anyhow... His first kick was obviously searching to take my head off. Trust me, he doesnt KNOW how to really hurt someone, although i'm sure he's capable of doing so (who isn't?)

                        2) It's not worth it putting him on this discussion, because he would simply make up excuses, just like the ones you mentioned (he wasn't trying). Well, trust me he tried. He didn't "try his hardest" on his punches to show that he wasn't trying, just in case he lost the fight. TRUST ME, I know this guy too well, he's freakin SLY and DECEIVING. He had it all planned out, well mostly.
Plus he's an ass, and would just be flamming.

                        3) Where WAS my JKD? I never took lessons, so I guess it was all BS moves...that worked. Fine by me.

                        4) Here's where you're a dumbass. I never said this was a big match. It was only big to me and him. Those guys in the vid, I dont even know. As far as I'm concerned, there shouldn't have been anyone even there (especially KIDS).

I just brought the camera so my bro could see the fight, since there was a lot of hatred towards this guy after I told people the story. Anyway, everyone's a crittic, but only david received a groin shot from Jee t....
