Hey people im a new member of this forum i been browsing arounf this forum quite a lot of time for som reason i hadnt subscribe. im not new to martial arts i almost have a year in this stuff, first i studied in AM Kempo Karate, my teacher were certify, i spend 5 months in therek, but after a street situation i knew tecniques didnt and i lost, then i started training like in boxing, sometimes worcked kicks, but after another street fight i learned i had to use everything and anything that worcked, now i train harder, sometimes spar but rarely, most of my friends are scared of beign punched, eccept 2 which i used to box, 1 higher weight 1 lower weight it was cool, but now they cant. by the way im 14 140-145 pounds, and about 5-4 5-5, a bit over weight but with the training i do i think i will be a bit skinier. my worckout routine is basickly run 1/2 mile everyday, cant run any longer lack of space sometimes a mile, then come back home walking since its a short way, then i do 4 rounds on a heavy bag 3 min rounds, 30 second rest, then train kicking, then pushups and situps, duck walks, occacionally sparring or focus miitts. sorry for writing so much on my 1st post, by the way im Mex Am.

        Hey street,
Sounds like you are doing some great things for just starting. Make sure to work punch combined with kick combos on your bag.
I don't know what other martial arts schools are around you but at your age you need lots and lots of drilling and sparring. By the time you are eighteen you will have four good years of training under you and things will start to become more clear. But hey keep up the good work it's good to hear from some young guys on this forum i started martial arts when i was six and went though many rough roads two.

        Best in training,

        Mike Vaughn
