Just finished work on the latest video project.

    FIRE POWER

This new video/DVD from the CSPT covers the use of the semi automatic handgun and the pump action shotgun for fighting in a domestic or urban environment.

Just because you think you know how to shoot does not mean you know the first thing about fighting with firearms!

There is more info and pictures on my site at:

The site has also been updated and there is a new article on certification.

What do guns have to do with martial arts?

i guess they mean nothing if you are an martial "artist" but if you are a fighter who cares about surviving a street situation, then knowlage of firearms is good to have.

lol.....do you now what martial arts are? not many dont incorporate some kind of weapon techniques.....and alot are only weapon techniques.

Thats like saying only a fool trusts his life to his own skill.

mar.tial (adj.): 1. of or suitable for war

Yep, that would seem to include guns.

The only surprising thing is how often Demi gets these kind of commments when he posts about Fire Power at various martial arts forums. It must be the Hollywood definition of martial arts that is so hard to shake. If you're not even considering the full spectrum of force options that you might need or encounter in the real world, then you might be practicing some art, but it ain't martial.

As far as im concerned, gun fights have nothing to do with martial arts nor fighting. The reason I practice JKD, isent for self defence cuz if someone comes with a gun, you dont really stand a chance. I like martial arts for fighting. Fighting is like a game, a game but a serious game. Now, I know what you're thinking, if someone comes with a gun, what am I gunna do? Im gunna give him my money and avoid the fight, there isent nothing to do, you cant risk it. But you, what makes you think that if you dont have the time to disarm him, that you'll have the time to get your gun off you're belt, take safety off and shoot him? Anyways, you have your point of view and I have mine. And I guess thats why the asian ppl didnt want Bruce to teach us martial arts. Look at it now. Shotgun? haha

That's exactly the same thing as saying "Kicking has nothing to do with martial arts or fighting. If someone kicks, you don't really stand a chance." Don't believe me? When Asian martial arts were first being introduced to this country on a large scale, boxers used to say that very thing. Kicking was considered un-gentlemanly, and un-manly.

Firearms are just another range and aspect of fighting, not a magical death-talisman that makes people give up as soon as you wave it. Ask any law enforcement officer about that. Maybe you do want to give up as soon as you see one. Other people would make a different choice.

                          No argument there.

The fact remains that firearms are a natural and inevtiable part of the JKD curriculum. Here's a quote for you, and I bet you can guess who wrote it: "Jeet Kune Do dislikes partialization or localization. Totality can meet all situations."
