Anyone else here train in CW? Use any of its submission techniques in your grappling game? I've had some limited contact with Tony Cecchine and am quite impressed with his knowledge and ability.

Re: Catch Wrestling
You lucky bastard! Catch Wrestling is friggin' awesome! I have not trained with Tony Cecchine but I have taken a look at his tapes and I have used the grappling techniques against BJJ guys, I just love to see their faces when I catch them in a double wrist lock! ( I'm not ragging on anybody, I'm a BJJ guy myself.) Dude, you have to train with the guy, your game will improve immediately. Does Tony Cecchine teach in Ohio? If so, I know where I am going this summer! Good luck to you man.Originally posted by HybriDD

No, I'm not that lucky
I have yet to train with Tony(my contact with him was through correspondence only )The CW techniques I know are mainly from its influence on Shooto and from older folkstyle/freestyle guys who knew a few Catch as Catch Can moves(which of course are mostly illegal in sport wrestling). Tony mainly trains out of Chicago, don't know if you heard but last year he was diagnosed with a pretty serious disorder/illness. He is just now on the road to recovery. I'm not sure if he will be training other grapplers just yet, although I believe he has approved two of his long time training partners to start teaching his brand of CW. Don't know if they do seminars but if they ever come by my area I will definately be there.
