Primary targets - eyes, throat and groin
There are a lot of people that can take a hard shot to the solar plexus. Poke someone in the eye or punch them in the throat....not many can take that!
JKD is a set of concepts and an approach to training. Jun Fan is a style.

I am not so sure about the hair pulling.
Hair pulling is different directions for different areas.
most painful for the back of the head is to pull upward.
Side of the head is to pull forward toward the face.
top of the head would be to pull forward toward the face and downward.
And you have two questions on the boxing wrestling question. They are both sports and if you follow the rules they are useless in selfdefense. The techniques themselves could be usefull in self defense. Kind of a trick questions.
anyway, cute quiz

Hey Everyone,
I ended up with a 92%. I dropped the ball on the hair pull question, gave Sifu Lee all the credit, and a few other minor screw ups...
What can I say, I'm still learning
Respectfully,
Harry

Who are B & C ?
And no, pulling downward on the hair doesn't maxime the pain, cause the head can move in that direction and lessens the pull. Pulling upward is better

A disappointing 24. But, in typical Bri Thai style I don't agree with the answers on the three I got wrong.
1. I couldn't care less what Pak Sao means.
2. Pulling hair. Bollocks to the direction. You pull it to manipulate the head, not cause pain.
3. If the solar p[lexus isn't a primary attacking area in your book, then you haven't been hit there.
So, I actually scored 28, with one being a bonus point for being so good.
I win!

The solar plexus falls into the Secondary Target areas. It's a good target but definitely not a Primary Target.
If someone is standing in front of you wanting to take your life are you telling me you think it's better to punch them in the solar plexus than in the throat or an eye poke?
What about the individual that doesn't have striking power? Attacks to the throat and eye pokes take very little power.
And yes, over the past 23 years of training I've been hit in the solar plexus more times than I care to remember.
