Great article! Rodney sums up the Straightblastgym philosophy well. At the main gym in oregon we no longer call our classes JKD they are SBG now (straightblastgym). Although no one at the gym ever gave a rats ass about bruce lee or JKD or that whole mess. We all just wanted to train and get better. If it works we do it, if it doesn't we don't. I think dropping the JKD name is a good idea in theory, but in reality it is a force that drives alot of people to the gym. Can the gym survive without that name? In our case I think that we are lucky because we have evolved to the point where we can exist on our own without it. In some cases I think there are gyms that need that name to draw in business. Sad but true.
