Paul Vunak's BJJ Rank???

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here knows what belt rank Paul Vunak holds? Also, who did he earn it from? I know his student Roy Harris is a 2nd degree BB under Joe Moreira. Thanks

I believe his rank ( if memeory serves) is blue & I think it's under Rickson Gracie. Roy Harris is the main man (grappling wise) in the PFS family & he's a black belt.

I am an instructor under Vu and he told me once that he did get up to purple. But rank wasn't important to Vu he just wanted to help his street fighting. I have rolled with many different belt levels including many great black belts. I must say just judging on my feelings he is right there with black belts. You have to remember Vu started with the Gracies in the early 80s before any one else did. People in Jkd today do not give Vu enough credit as he is the one who started spreading Bjj in Jkd. Without Vu many would have started jkd many years later. Vu has been doing Bjj for 23 years and is still ranked top five in my book.

I've got an old video of vunak which must predate his BJJ training. He explaines the attributes of grappling range as strength alone. I suppose he's greatly expanded the list since then.
